Free Spins

Which slots have you played where the bonus gives you free spins?

Only 4 days to go, whoopee!

Free Spins

Money Storm. Not many of those machines around anymore, but its a fun one.

Free Spins

TONS of games have free spins, look at the pic above the game it usually says ';win X free spins';. I too like Money Storm (and a big one too!), Sun and Moon has been very kind to me over the years.

Best Sports Book Downtown

Will be DT one night Dec 6th. I%26#39;ve stayed at the GN in the past and their sports book is just ok.. Kind of small.

Can anyone suggest a good sports book downtown? That Saturday Night is a good one. SEC Championship FL vs Alabama. De Le Hoya Fight, NBA, NCAA BB.. A lot of action.

Thanks

Best Sports Book Downtown

what does a ';best'; sportsbook mean to you? We know size is important. How does small mean ';just OK'; - if you have a comfortable seat, a place to place bets and a place to watch the game what else do you want besides larger than the GN?

Best Sports Book Downtown

Hmmm.

Well i guess DT Books differ from Strip Books.. Comp Drinks, large enough to get a seat with a view, comfortable seats.

Those are good for starts.

I%26#39;d check out Binion%26#39;s. I was just there and the seats are pretty comfortable with about 8 large hi def TVs above the counter. Looks like it%26#39;s been recently redone.

That%26#39;s another big difference about Downtown....the sportsbooks aren%26#39;t nearly as big as the ones on the Strip. If I%26#39;m not mistaken, I believe they%26#39;re all about the same size as the one at the Nugget. I thought the ones at the Plaza and Vegas Club are pretty good.

I like the El Co but the one at Binion%26#39;s is nice too.

I think the Vegas Club sports book was shut down but the Plaza which did the lines for them is still running. If you want to shop for lines there are 6 of them downtown. If you want to just watch, Plaza and Golden Nugget are okay.

Back from Vegas - TR to follow

Back from Vegas (Nov 15). My 6th trip in 3 yrs and one of the best yet.

I will write my first ever TR later in the week.

Quick observations:

Monday was a ghost town!!! The rest of the week was busier but not much.

Doesn%26#39;t anyone tip anymore? Many occasions no tips went to hard working industry folks (shuttle drivers, bellhops, waitresses)

Palazzo, what an amazing hotel, I am afraid I can%26#39;t go anywhere else.

Brits (as they want to be called)are great fun, had a blast with some of them great folk one night.

My first ';Lady of the night experiance'; wow was I dissapointed!! (this should keep you interested in my TR.

Will post within the next couple of days.

Cheers,

Thunder down under/ Chippendales Question

So,

I have never been to this type of show before, and I want to know, just how much do you get to see? I%26#39;m a fairly modest person, but I thought a show might be fun, just not sure if it goes farther than I want to see.

Thanks!

Thunder down under/ Chippendales Question

You won%26#39;t see anything that you wouldn%26#39;t see at a beach or pool. Except the guys wearing speedos are typically much hotter :)

Thunder down under/ Chippendales Question

yup i agree with the other poster. it%26#39;s almost more fun to watch the other ladies that have had too much to drink jump up and down. i have never laughed so much! those women were down right funny. go see for your self. cheers!!!

Downtown Cocktail Room

Anyone ever visited this place? Any reviews? I couldn%26#39;t find any.

Downtown Cocktail Room

I%26#39;ve never heard of it.......where is it??

Downtown Cocktail Room

Their website says the entrance is on Las Vegas Blvd just south of Fremont. I was wondering if the place was worth checking out when touring thru downtown. I%26#39;ve never seen it mentioned in these forums before.

Downtown Cocktail Room is a nice little gem downtown. The interior vibe is somewhat like an ultra lounge without the attitude you would get at other such places. The staff behind the bar are true mixologists and prepare outstanding cocktails that are of superior quality and at much lower prices than some club on the strip. It%26#39;s always worth taking a look at their seasonal cocktail menu to see what new libations await. The interior is dimmly lit with deep reds and plenty of interesting art around. Restrooms are also pretty nice, and a little different too. Vibe can range from a low key place to have a conversation to a place to shake your booty. The DJ usually spins down tempo house, sometimes spiced up with live musicians. Very cool vibe all in all. If your looking for top 40 tripe skip this place. No skin heads at the door acting like it%26#39;s a privilege for you to be allowed in. No cover charge. Bartenders and waitresses are always friendly and on their game. When you go, push the metal, not the glass to enter.

Hey is this that funky place with the brick exterior where it is hard to find how to get in? ( thanks for tip about the glass Steve). I understand they have Happy Hour 4-8 M-F with $3 beers and $5 well drinks- maybe that would be a good time to check it out( if we can find our way in). If you are having trouble with the door, will someone help you...or just enjoy watching you struggle?

They%26#39;ll enjoy watching you struggle.

Not sure why this old post was brought back to life.

I%26#39;ve had the pleasure of visiting this place several times since I posted this in 2007.

The descriptions shown by Steve are accurate.

This is 1 of my favorite places in downtown Vegas to have a few drinks.

Wow, this thing came back to life because I didn%26#39;t read the YEAR the question was asked....I just read the month.

Yes, if you struggle at the door people inside will get a little chuckle, and yes, more than likely they will assist you getting in. Lets face it, most people have had problems figuing out where the door really is. Even after I had been there a few times... one night... I slammed right into the glass trying to get in, and I hadn%26#39;t even had a cocktail yet. Ooopps!

Great place, great vibe and great drinks!!! Restrooms are pretty cool too.

And then theres the nights Alicia is working.

Sigh.

I need to get back to Vegas.

  • Casino Fandango TR 8/15/07

Staying in Reno but decided to drop down into Carson City to eat dinner with my brother. He suggested the buffet at this casino on the south end of town. It only took a half hour or so from the Peppermill. The casino isn%26#39;t big but it reminds me of the Peppermill with all of the lights inside. I wanted to get a players club card and asked at the cashier%26#39;s cage where to do so and she took down my info and went over and got it for me herself. That was very nice and/or she was very bored. The dinner buffet was usually $13.95 but August specials on Wed cut the price to $9.95 with a player%26#39;s card. Excellent selection and quality of food at the buffet. A variety of Asian hot foods, sushi (better than any other buffet I%26#39;ve seen), Mexican (tamales looked homemade!), seafood, carved meats, full salad bar, and full dessert bar. Also, 10-12 different flavors of gelato. Yes, gelato, not your typical soft serve out of a machine. I%26#39;d highly recommend this buffet and will return. I didn%26#39;t get a chance to play there but the variety of slots and vp looked good, and there are table games. There is also a coffee shop and steakhouse in the casino. The casino has covered garage parking (3-4 levels) and there is a Marriott Courtyard being built next door (casino does not have a hotel). Up the hill just above the casino they just opened a new digitial multiplex - I think it might be 10 screens. All in all, looks like this is a winner!

    Casino Fandango TR 8/15/07

I think the prices at the buffet have gone back to regular. You only get the discount if you are using the players club points. Why go to Carson wen we have much more in Reno! Unless I%26#39;m getting someone else to pay for dinner! :)

    Casino Fandango TR 8/15/07

One reason to go is to just enjoy getting away from Reno for a few hours!

Weather we go to Reno and stay couple days at Peppermill or Atlantas we always take off for Tahoe or Carson City and gamble and have lunch at Fandango%26#39;s or Bodines, the newest casino.

When staying a week at our timeshare Ridge Tahoe we do same thing and drive up to Reno for few hours!

  • Romance

Given that you have unlimited funds whats the most romantic restaurant in Las Vegas.

    Romance

I used to work in the kitchen of a very upscale and fancy restaurant. From my experience, restaurants are pretty dirty and gross. Here are my stories.

Food was handled with our bare hands all the time, which is the most disturbing because we never washed our hands. We were never trained to wash hands. There was one sink for all the servers, that didn%26#39;t even have hand soap located nearby!

The floors in the kitchen were hardly mopped, the drawers were never cleaned out, things were tossed around and not stored properly. There was grime and dirt on the floors and walls. Counter tops were merely brushed off and not sanitized. Water was kept in the ';sanitation bucket'; which was supposed to be filled with sanitizing liquid.

    Final Verdict:

Before you order, go to the bathroom and peek behind the counters at the kitchen. If you see something dirty, most likely the rest of the place looks the same!

    Enjoy your meal in Vegas.

    Romance

Well thanks for your help . I guess now i just have to starve to death or never eat where you work.

Sorry Chevy, I cannot help with the romantic spot. But also sorry that that jerk needed to reply and not even come close to answering your question. From his post of late, his background may explain his mental state.

Unlimited funds? Room service in the Skylofts.

The Eiffel Tower restaurant is a popular choice.

UGA%26#39;s just upset because the Dogs %26amp; Coach Richt just can never seem to live up to expectations...or beat UF.

I second the Tower, but would point you towards Picasso at Bellagio. Fountain views, and GREAT meals and ambiance. Enjoy!

I would have to say Alex at the Wynn

but he/she has the best breed of dog in the world :)

Everyone%26#39;s idea of romantic is different. I%26#39;m older so my idea is: soft lights, soft music (or none), tables that aren%26#39;t close together allowing some degree of privacy, service that is present but not obtrusive, a relaxed pace between courses, and most importantly the ability to speak to the person with whom you are dining without having to raise your voice.

Surprisingly enough very few Las Vegas restaurants fall within this category. Las Vegas does ';hip %26amp; trendy'; a lot better than intimate and romantic. That being said:

    1. Alex at Wynn.

    2. Picasso at Bellagio

    3. Alize at Palms. If you consider view romantic Alize is by far the best of the ';view restaurants';. But it can sometimes get a little noisy.

There are some top-rated gourmet restaurants that I haven%26#39;t been to, like Robechon or Guy Savoy that are supposed to be outstanding. But I don%26#39;t see them referred to as romantic, so I kind of assume that type of atmosphere is not their goal.

    Before Dec. 31- Andre%26#39;s downtown

    http://www.andrelv.com/original/

    After: Alize

    http://www.andrelv.com/alize/home

You can%26#39;t beat the food, service or ambience at either restaurant. I think they are so much better than the Top of the World or Eiffel Tower.

i would also say Alize at the Palms.

wonderful service, excellent food and a very romantic view and atmosphere.

we had the chef%26#39;s tasting menu with wine pairing and it was probably the best meal i%26#39;ve ever had. simply perfect.

TR - First time to Vegas

Returned yesterday from my first trip to Vegas, with my 18 year old daughter and her 21 year old boyfriend. Will post TR as reply.

TR - First time to Vegas

I would actually first like to start with the end of my trip – what a horror show.

After waiting at Hartford in Atlanta for 4.5 hours, we finally board the plane only to sit and wait for another 30 minutes because someone’s child had gone into the bathroom and tampered with something. Maintenance had to come on board and fix whatever it was.

Then we get an announcement that the pilot has an issue with the weight and balance on the plane…!! So we sit and wait and wait….. people are asking the attendants and they are trying to explain, unsuccessfully. Finally the pilot comes on and explains that for every flight, they need to make sure that they have enough gas to take them to an alternate location. Since we are flying to Bermuda – out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean – he needed to make sure he has enough fuel to take him to Virginia. Then he explains that he has to take the weight of the gas, the passengers and the luggage and enter it into the machine. Apparently this has been done, but the plane is too heavy… are you kidding me!!! So we sit and wait. They then call the name of 7 passengers, asking them to collect all their personal belongings and exit the plane. We are eventually told that these were the last 7 passengers to board so because their luggage is on top, they are asked to leave. One of these individuals is already plugged into their ipod. So the attendant has to actually go up to that person (using seat number) and personally ask them to exit. Now that this is over and everyone is cussing like sailors…. we are finally ready to go. Passengers were explainable anxious, but I felt confident that the pilot would not take off unless he himself felt confident that everything was fine!!

So we take off, and what happens… as we are ascending the plane starts to shake – naturally everyone is terrified because of the drama we have just been through. We eventually become airborne and all seems to be going fine. My daughter’s boyfriend has the ignorance to remind us that this is how the singer Aleyah died, from an overweight plane with too much luggage – thanks for that!!!

About 1 hour into the flight we have the worst turbulence I have experienced in my many, many years of flying!!! I thought for sure we were going down – it lasted for a full minute. I grabbed my daughters hand and prayed like never before. It finally ended, the attendants continued serving drinks like nothing had happened – very annoying!!

We finally made it back. I am glad this happened on the way back and not on the way out. I most definitely would have had to take a cruise ship back to the island.

So… I live to write my first LV trip report!!

TR - First time to Vegas

Thank God you made it back safe.

I would have been so pissed to be led off the plane, how rude. There has to be a better system than that. The turbulence on take off would have freaked me out too.

I just hope you had a great time in Vegas.

That sounds like an awful trip home.

Now, where%26#39;s the fun stuff? We want to hear about shows, gambling, food, etc.!!

Now that we%26#39;ve heard the bad, please let us know the good parts from your time in Vegas.

As mentioned, I travelled with my teenage daughter so there wasn’t much drinking and gambling involved.

Arrived at McCarran. Car rented from Alamo - $138 for the week. Took the Strip to Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort which was on West Flamingo Road. We got our first view of the Strip at night but were too tired to appreciate anything. After one wrong turn, we were successful in finding the resort. Checked in at about 12:15 am so no timeshare agents around to hassle us. We were tired and hungry so after dropping off luggage we went to a grocery store across the street and bough a frozen pizza, which we cooked, ate and went to bed.

Sunday – tired from travelling the day before so didn’t wake until after 11 am. Breakfast at IHOP; off to the strip. Parked at Bally’s and got our first view of the Vegas hotels – absolutely beautiful. Went to Paris, Flamingo (wildlife exhibit – not much there), Harrah’s and over to Mirage. I had told my daughter how I had read on this forum how children are politely escorted through the casinos so she was a bit anxious and walked really fast when we got to the casino. She is about 6 inches taller than me so I struggled to keep up. Of course with a teenage daughter, all she is interested in is shopping so we went to Forum Shops and Fashion Show Mall just to look around. It’s amazing how time flies when walking through the hotels. May sound pretty boring, but that took up our whole day.

Monday – Treasure Island; Mirage to see the tiger/dolphin exhibit. Daughter is a budding photographer so we spent more time that I wanted taking pictures of the tigers, lions, llamas, dolphins – I think there was a leopard there too..?? She spent 20 mins to half hour at each cage, trying to get the right shot!! Then went over to Wynn and Palazzo. Then off to the shopping outlet downtown. Wasn’t her cup of tea she we just walked around and then left before it got dark - didn’t want to get lost down there. Plus, boyfriend was arriving tonight so she had to go back to the resort to make herself look pretty. Picked him up at about 9pm. Returned to resort for him to freshen up and then headed back to the Strip for him to get his first view. He is 21 so of course he was interested in the casinos. After being there for 2 days, my daughter has become more comfortable walking through the casinos as she was not given a 2nd glance when we were walking through. So when he wants to stop, she is okay with this. She watched as he played – after about 45 minutes without being harassed, she decided to press a button or 2. Were only playing with about $50 but they were going up and down – no win, $50 loss; left at about 2:15 am.

Tuesday – Slept in late again. Shopping day for daughter. We went to Las Vegas Outlets. My daughter was in heaven. We shopped, ate lunch, and shopped some more. Mac King Comedy Show in the afternoon. When we went to Harrah’s to purchase tickets, we were given a coupon – 2 free entrees for the price of one drink. So ended up paying about $36 for 3 people. Think the regular price was $27 per person. Really enjoyed this show – good, clean, family comedy and magic show. After this, went over to TI to purchase tickets to Mystere for the next night. Of course, only tickets left are the most expensive ones. Bit the bullet and purchase the 3 tickets. Walk through TI – as we leave Siren show is about to begin so we wait and watch (no worth standing there in the cold – we were not prepared to stay out so had no jackets). Too many people crammed in one spot for me!! Paris has now become their favorite place, so we go back there for them to play slot machines. I am not a gambler so I just watch – then decide to go outside as the smoke is unbearable. I go out and watch the Bellagio Fountains for a while, until they are ready to leave.

That flight was a nightmare! Which airlines? And, I hope that your Visit to Vegas was a fantastic one, You certainly deserved a fun time after all of that!

It was Delta Airlines. Thankfully this nightmare was on our way back.

Wednesday – Daughter has some homework to do so we stay in for the morning for her to complete. Then back to Las Vegas Outlet to exchange a few items and spend more money. Back to resort to take a nap and then get ready for Mystere. We arrived at about 8:45 for the 9:30 show. Line had already formed. We get in line and wait for about 20 mins for doors to open. Show was great. Would definitely recommend it, but is not a show I would rush to see again. Had heard how the ushers treat people who take pictures in here – no exaggeration… if a flash when off, about 2 or 3 ushers headed in your direction and took cameras away – they are not kidding!! Then…. back to Paris for some more slot machines.

Thursday – Another morning which I can’t remember, and I can’t blame it on a hangover because I wasn’t drinking!!!! Took the kids to Adventure Dome at Circus Circus – much smaller than we expected. But they got to go on the rides; laser tag room about 4 times. Played a few arcade games. Not that many people there so there were no lines. A few of the rides were closed but I think they got their money’s worth. Went to wax museum – spent about 1.5 hours there. Daughter and BF got in fight so he walked off. We spent about an hour walking around looking for him. He finally called and we met up – by now everyone is mad so we go back to resort. They fight some more and they each them shut themselves in different rooms… so that’s the end of this day.

Friday – our last day. Kids make up, as I knew they would. Last trip to do some final shopping. Off to Walmart to buy a new suitcase and some toiletries – it’s cheaper to buy in the US and carry back, due to the prices here in Bermuda. We pack our bags and go to dinner at Applebee. Back to the resort to collect our luggage and off to the airport. We decide to take the Strip back to get our final look. Arrive at the airport to find our flight has been delayed about half hour. So we sit and wait and wait and wait and finally we are off for our 4 hour flight to Atlanta. Where we then have a 3.5 hour wait…. And then we take the flight from hell, back to Bermuda.

I apologize if this was a boring TR as there was not drinking and gambling involved.

We never made it to NYNY, Stratosphere, Bellagio, or any of the hotels at the southern end of the Strip so we MUST RETURN!! Told my daughter I would take her and her friends back for her 21st birthday - without the boyfriend!! She had a good time as well and may not want to wait that long.

I remember flying with my Dad to Hawaii for my 19th birthday. After having many beers in the first few hours of that flight we experienced crazy turbulence. Because I was a teenager (death was not in my vocab) and feeling no pain (brews) I kept egging my Dad, telling him I thought we were going into the Pacific. After a few minutes, my dad got up and moved to another seat. Now that I am a dad, death is in my vocab and I am not as comfortable when in a similar situation- that trip to Hawaii was the worst turbulence I have ever experienced. Anyhow, that part of your tr triggered this memory.

    Nice TR :-)

    Driving from McCarren to Palazzo

I travel to Vegas about 3 times a year but I have never rented a car. We arrive on Monday, Nov 24th at about 3:30 pm and plan to rent a car at the airport. Given the construction, time of day, and location of the Palazzo, what is the best route to take to the hotel? Sure would appreciate anyone that can suggest the best driving route. Thanks!

    Driving from McCarren to Palazzo

Paradise Rd left on Sands Blvd Left into self parking or Left at Las Vegas Blvd if you want to valet.

    Driving from McCarren to Palazzo

Take the Freeway (ask how to get there from the rental car place) - get off at...the one after Flamingo (Vegas Plaza?), and when you get to the Strip take a right but get into the LEFT LANE right away (I think there are 2 lanes turning right, be in the most left one), left into Palazzo.

Last time I took the freeway at 3:30pm, it was stopped!!!!!!

I%26#39;d go the back way but if you take Warmwinds%26#39; advice, it%26#39;s the Spring Mountain exit and upon leaving the freeway you take the left split to go right. Pay attention.

I THOUGHT it was Spring Mtn. but I checked Mapquest and they called it Vegas Plaza - never heard of it. Anyway, there was no traffic the afternoon we drove it and I like freeway driving better than stopping at a bunch of lights.

@ LV Blvd. it become Sands Ave.

The rental car agency will give you a map - and highlight the route if you want them to. They will know the conditions at the time you rent.

No way would I take the freeway at 3:30pm.

If the strip isn%26#39;t busy I might drive it, straight shot to The P and some enjoy seeing the strip.

Remeber the rental car location is away from the terminals - getting to Paradise not hard, just not the same as if leaving from the terminals. If you don%26#39;t want to stay on the strip take Koval (behind MGM off Trop) to a left on Sands - no need to go to Paradise. You can actually turn right before Trop and hit Koval easier, avoiding the busy intersection - look at the map. It%26#39;s not as pretty as the strip - at 3:30 on a Monday of a slow week the strip will be more pleasing to the eye.

Thanks all. I like Bridgefan1 idea about taking Koval. I totally want to avoid the bumper to bumper of the freeway and have driven down the strip on many, many occassions so the Koval route sounds like a plan. I will however double check the route with the car rental agency too. Thanks again all!!

    trip to south rim

Following advice from reports on this forum,I have now decided to hire car go to south rim, stay overnight, then return LV. Question, it is said trip is 5 hours each way,?????does that allow stop at hoover dam,and williams?? Exactly, how many miles is the trip

    trip to south rim

You can plan your trip through sites like mapquest.com.

No, the 5 hour estimate is for the drive, not including stops.

    trip to south rim

The route is simple and there%26#39;s no way to get lost. If you stop on the AZ side of the Hoover dam after you cross, you%26#39;ll have good views and fewer people to contend with. A stop in Seligman is popular for a Rt 66 nostalgia fix and a an ice cream or shake at Degadillos. Not much reason to stop in Williams. Just get yourself to the GCNP and have a good time.

Thanks for your helpful reply.,but surprised your comments on Williams.I thought it was a western tourist type place???

I believe that the mileage is around 280 plus or minus. the average speed driven on the interstate section is around 65 to 75, but you slow down a bit on the road from williams to the grand canyon as it is only one lane in each direction

After stopping at the Hoover Dam,I would pickup Rt66

in Kingman driving to Seligman. This is one of the best sections of rt 66 in the USA IMO.Plenty of good places to eat in Seligman,...Delgadillos famous Snow Cap Drive In,Lilos etc..

Make sure to stop in Hackberry on way to Seligamn.

This is a MUST stop, you will see why if you stop.

I stayed in Williams a few times on my way to the Grand Canyon and found it to be a very charming town.

Lots of very good restaurants and nice hotels at very reasonable prices.I would prefer staying in the Grand Canyon if lodging is available but if not Williams is only a little over an hr away. The road (64)from Williams to the GC is mainly 65 mph no problem here.

A lot of people may suggest to stay in Tusayan about 15 minutes from the GC. In my opinion,Williams much nicer, restaurants better and hotels half the price... but to each its own. Watch your speed on RT 64 and especially around Williams...

You should have a great time with so much to see.

try to get lodging inside the park for the best experience - www.grandcanyonlodges.com

    williams has a lot of hotels and restaurants as described, but it%26#39;s just a town, not a ';western tourist type town.';

route 66 is interesting to some people. it%26#39;s the old highway from the midwest to los angeles. is more scenic than the interstate. but unless you have a specific interest in an old highway, just stick to the interstate and get to the canyon.

interstate 40 from Kingman to GC most boring drive in the world. Some people must love boring drives...

Others like I, like to avoid Interstates as much as possible.. Salt and pepper here.....

Not saving much time by driving AWESOME I40.....

No comparison here and you have the time.....

Can amyone tell me where to buy? thanks

    Uggs in LV near strip

If you enter ';uggs'; in the forum search box, you%26#39;ll get tons of info. For some reason, this is a popular question.

    Uggs in LV near strip

My daughter wants Uggs also. I did a search and found two places at the Fashion Show Mall that carries a large selection. Nordstrom and The Walking Company.

You might find a good deal reading this forum:

    www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/877486

Any type of shoes and clothing (Including Uggs) you would ever want is in one mall, the Fashion Show Mall there is no reason to go anywhere else to shop in Las Vegas. Its is a high end mall right up there with the best shopping malls in the US.

I was going to give you the same advice. Go to the Fashion Show Mall. I get a pair at Nordstrom%26#39;s every year!

3nts comped at Bellagio and best comedy show

    Hello everyone,

I will be staying at Bellagio for 3 nights starting on 1 Jan. It%26#39;s a milestone birthday for me, it%26#39;s not 30 and it%26#39;s not 50 and I%26#39;m not happy about it :-(

I%26#39;m wondering where/what the best comedy shows are in LV. I%26#39;m trying to decide between CDS Love and a really good comedy show. I%26#39;m not excited about this b-day so I%26#39;m thinking maybe some really good laughs will cheer me up. I would prefer a headliner comedian but if there%26#39;s some not so well known comedians that%26#39;s ok too as long as I%26#39;ll be LMAO.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

3nts comped at Bellagio and best comedy show

I%26#39;d see LOVE, it is definitely a %26#39;feel good%26#39; experience and it%26#39;s fabulous!

3nts comped at Bellagio and best comedy show

There are limited shows, unless you are talking ';headliners';. There is the improv, comedy stop and another that have 3 to 5 comedians each night, but as to certain shows, just look on the show websites and see if there is a ';headliner'; you like.

You must like the Beatles to really enjoy Love! Will you be with any special person? If so, some of the shows like defending the caveman and such that are very funny.

Vinnie Favorito at the Flamingo. Caustic, but absolutely hilarious.

I will be with my husband, I don%26#39;t mind potty mouth comedy or non PC comedy. Some of my favorite comedians are Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Ron White etc.. so I%26#39;m fine with that stuff. Has anyone seen Rita Rudner? Is she any good? What about George Wallace?

Carrot top at the Luxor is great fun.

Oh, I forgot all about carot top! He is pretty funny. Anyone else have suggestions for a really good comedy show?

I saw Wayne Brady recently, he was pretty fantastic

I rate Carrot Top the best of the standups with George Wallace not too far behind. Rita Rudner is very funny but if you like Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor she might seem a little tame as she is one of the cleanest comedians. Wayne Brady is quite good for improv although you might prefer the structure of the stand-ups more.

I just saw Anthony Colls at paris a hypnotist. The best funniest show I have ever seen. It is a must. You can even volunteer. OMG I cant even tell u how funny it is. Better then any comedy show by far.

Thank you everyone for the ideas. I think if we don%26#39;t do the CDS Love show, it will be a toss up between carrot top and George Wallace.

Has anyone out there seen Jubilee? Hubby has mentioned seeing a ';true'; las vegas type show. You know the georgeous women in the feather headdresses, that kind of show. Is jubilee any good? I know it%26#39;s a long running show so it must be entertaining.

  • just got 'Deck The Slots' offer from V/P. how do slot tourn.

anyone else just get this offer for 3-4 nights compd and chance to win money in a slot tournament? How do slot tournaments work? do I have to pay to enter?

    thanks

just got 'Deck The Slots' offer from V/P. how do slot tourn.

When you got the offer it would have stated a monetary amount if there were an entry fee.

You usuall check in for the tournament one day, play 2 sessions the next, 1 the day after that and the finale party is held later that same afternoon/evening when the announce the prize winners. Each session only lasts about 10 min but with having to get there a few min early etc, allow 30 min per session.

just got 'Deck The Slots' offer from V/P. how do slot tourn.

Hi- if you are invited to participate in a slot tourney there should not be an entry fee.(at least I have never had to pay to enter)-.

Your room is comped but they will look at your play while you are there.

The tournament will most likely consist of a few sessions. You%26#39;ll sign up and play at your assigned times. In the past I played in three sessions and the combined scores were added to see who the highest scoring players were. Depending on the prize structure you might win something. (I never scored high enough to win anything more then $100 in freplay)

The Monte Carlo also would host a banquet dinner after the last night of the tournament(typically the tournaments ran from Thurs to Sat afternoon and the dinner was Sat night)We always had a nice time at the dinners and enjoyed meeting other couples.

    Good luck!

    Janice

those casino slot tourney offers are free? Are the rooms comped too? I used to get them in the mail a few years ago, I did not realize that the offers were free, but there was definitley no price on them.

so if the sessions are short, that means during that time i have to see how many credits i can get with money out of my pocket? or are the machines already programed with credits to play?

No, you don%26#39;t pay a thing!! The machines for tournaments are programmed to %26#39;hit%26#39; continually. You don%26#39;t win money on them at all, you get points each session for the hits you%26#39;ve made and the value of those hits. Your scores from each session are added together to get your total score.

    I see.

    thanks Gabby!

    Go and enjoy, they%26#39;re fun!

I played in a tournament at Bellagio in Sept of %26#39;07. They usually hold the tournaments in one of the hotel ballrooms. They have bars set up, serve a light breakfast buffet in the AM, a lunch at lunchtime and then hors dourves late in the afternoon until the sessions are done for that day. You can go there anytime you want, not just when you play to enjoy the food/drinks.

Would this be handled differently HET vs. MGM? We received a tourney invite, but it lists a food credit. They hold a dinner and offer more free food?

I just returned from a slot tournament at the Venetian. Not all slot tournaments are the same. The room was comped but the tournament consisted of 2 five minute sessions. There was no food or drink at anytime. The awards were presented at Tao night club with light ordourves. When I went to the Wynn they had 3- 10 minute sessions in a beautifully decorated ballroom. There was food morning, noon, and night. The Wynn%26#39;s was by far the best. Their rooms were also comped.

    goffs road

    Hi all-

Long time lurker looking for an alternative to the river road. I know it%26#39;s in a lot better shape than before, but my car is like an old horse when it sees the barn, I cant help going fast because I%26#39;m so close to my destination, yet the speed limit is so low, plus I see people getting tickets every trip.

I took goffs road to the 95 then the 163 many years ago,and remember it being kind of worn out and spooky. But it does save me a few miles and I avoid the most un-favorite part of my trip.

Is this a good idea? Are there big potholes? I%26#39;ve looked for goffs in the search and couldnt find it. Any suggestions?

    thanks in advance

    Fishinful

    goffs road

I have tried many different routes into Laughlin, but never Goffs Road. I can%26#39;t imagine it could be any faster over to 95. You are driving on a two lane road vs. a 4 lane freeway. I tried the 95 to 163 and then into Laughlin, but I found it was a much slower route (time wise).

The fastest route coming in from I-40 that I found, is to take the River Cutoff over to the Needles Highway and then into Laughlin. The Nevada section of the road is really good, but it is a major speed trap. Last week I saw someone getting a ticket, and another police car waiting for the next customer.

Now if you don%26#39;t want to worry about the speed trap section is to cross into Needles and take the Arizona 95 through Ft. Mohave and Bullhead City- crossing the bridge into Laughlin.

My advise is to take the Needles Highway and just watch your speed the last few miles.

    goffs road

Thats a great drive because your by yourself away from all the stinkin traffic.

    Help! What to pack?

    Help!

I am leaving on Wednesday and I don%26#39;t know what to pack! Is it going to be warm enough for tank tops or should I stick to t-shirts, should I pack pants or capris? I%26#39;ve checked the forecast but I%26#39;m unsure how to translate it into my wardrobe choices!

    Thanks!

    Help! What to pack?

It might be warm enough for tanks during the day but you are going to need a sweater or jacket for the evenings.

If you aren%26#39;t one to go back to your room and change for the evening, then I would suggest layers. Long pants and a light shirt for the day with a sweater/jacket for evenings.

    Have a great trip.

    Help! What to pack?

Leave the tank tops and capris at home. At the warmest you will most likely need a tshirt, long sleeved shirt or light sweater during the day, evenings will be cooler. Of course it could end up being quite warm or quite cold, it is the desert. Bring clothing that can be layered.

According to Accuweather the temps are going to be in the low to mid 70s or high 60s. That is certainly capri weather for us in England. I will be taking a pair of lightweight cargo pants for any sort of freak cooler weather during the day.

I am leaving Sunday and had the same delima. The temps fluctuate so much from day to night. So I am taking long sleeve, long pants and jacket for evenings. I packed sleeveless and shortsleeve tops, capris and long jeans for days. I am covering all possibilities. Yes I slightly over packed and glad I did. There is nothing worse than underpacking for vacation. You shold be fine with capris during the day. It will be mid 70%26#39;s. You will probably need long pants for nights unless you are able to wear capris in 50 degree temps.

I just returned this weekend. I would say no tank tops. Short sleeve shirts for the day and you may get away with carpis. Evening, long sleeve shirts with jacket.

Well here is the thing with weather, one guys warm is anothers cold. This past weekend was nice and sunny. Not what I would call pool weather and I sure was not in tank tops or capris. I did not use my pool, though I did sit outside and read the paper in my sweats. A quick check of my neighbors pools and my club pool showed them also empty. Sunday while having brunch at Tableau I noticed a few people at the VIP pool. A quick chat with a pool attendant and I learned most all were Europeans who thought the weather was hot. The pool attendant mind you was wearing a jacket.

check out the web cam ---- it%26#39;ll give you an idea what people are wearing.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. Calm wind.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 73.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 72.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

this is from the national weather service for LV.

If you don%26#39;t know how to translate the temps into your wardrobe choices, how do you expect anyone else to know? We don%26#39;t know you and how you like to dress in certain.

Given the current temps I would be in capris/shorts and lightweight tops during the day, and would be swimming. A light jacket at night. My husband is much more cold-natured and wears shorts all year.

I always check the forcast immediately before packing my clothes (everything else is always packed), which is about 15 min before I walk out the door, never fails.

Check the forcast an hour before you leave. Versatile pieces serve me well, sleeves that roll up, pashminas, windjacket with zip out sleeves (my golf clothes work great during the day).

In case anyone needs a translation from bridgey (I had to look it up):

Pashmina refers to a type of fine cashmere wool and the textiles made from it.[1][2] The name comes from Pashmineh, made from Persian pashm (= ';wool';).[2] This wool comes from changthangi or pashmina goat, which is a special breed of goat indigenous to high altitudes of the Himalayas. The wool has been used for thousands of years to make high-quality shawls that also bear the same name.

Pashmina is an Urdu and Persian word[2] which only became popular after the so-named shawls, woven in Kashmir,[1] started being popular in the west. Pashmina shawls were originally shawls hand spun, woven and embroidered in Kashmir, and made from fine cashmere fiber.[1][3]

Has anyone stayed in the new M suites at Harrahs? I called to check on rates for our December visit and was told they cannot be reserved at this time-they are being given out by hosts.

    They look interesting.

    M suites

I drive by them every time Im in town every few weeks. last week being the most recent and I didnt think they were open yet? Are they?

The location on Las Vegas Blvd/St Rose Prkwy is a pretty isolated area so anything you%26#39;d want to do outside of your hotel would require you get in a car and drive.

    M suites

    sorry confused with:

Marnell Architecture is currently developing their own casino-resort, the M Resort (with the help of MGM MIRAGE), which is located on approximately 90-acres at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and St. Rose Parkway (about 8.5 miles south of Mandalay Bay). Actually, the resort is being built in the only area of Henderson that touches the south-strip. For the location, see the bottom of the South Map.

The M Resort-Spa-Casino will be a classy, $1-billion addition to Las Vegas with; a 390-room tower, 35 suites, 92,000 sq. ft. of casino area, a 60,000-sq. ft. conference room, a 23,000-sq.-ft. health spa and salon, eight restaurants, four bars, one entertainment venue, retail outlets, a 100,000-sq.-ft. pool area, a 63,000-sq.-ft. movie entertainment theatre with 14 screens, and other five-star amenities.

Marnell expects a spring 2009 openin

Ashe, thanks so much for mentioning those M Suites at Harrahs! They are gorgeous! Wow, it sure would be nice to get set up in one of these, wouldnt it?

They can be seen at www.harrahs.com

    Here%26#39;s a short description:

We’ve truly thought of everything!

Carolina, I am crossing my fingers. DH and I are both Diamond players and have a host, so maybe we will get lucky.

I%26#39;m not sure what the criteria is for getting one of these suites.

They just opened those M suites. Probably about 3 weeks ago. They look like they%26#39;re furnished with stuff from Target (I%26#39;m sure most high end hotels are furnished with cheap stuff ::cough:: Venetian). But nice for Harrah%26#39;s none the less.

With both of You having Diamond cards, and a Harrahs Host, I would think You would fall into the category of getting one! :) Please keep me updated and let me know what You thought of the M Suite.

Let me ask You something.. Do You use the same Host to do all your HET Vegas properties? I have a Host at Flamingo and another one over at Caesars, but its my understanding that One Host can do All. I just like having a Host on each property, but with the lack of response/service from the gal over at Caesars, I%26#39;m beginning to think I will let the Flamingo Host take care of any bookings anywhere else.

I havent stayed at Harrahs (in yrs anyway), its time to give them another look, I think. :) Would You recommend that I get a separate Host at Harrahs if we decide to stay there in the future?

Our host at Caesars was terrible-totally unresponsive. I%26#39;m not real crazy about Caesars anyway, even though the Augustus tower rooms are very nice. We have a host at Flamingo who is really good. We have not used this host at Harrahs before. I%26#39;ll let you know how it goes. He sent us emails and snail mails asking us to come to Harrahs and pretty much promising the world. We%26#39;ll see.

Our host at Flamingo did get us a comped Go mini suite complete with a welcome basket. All requests were handled promptly and to our complete satisfaction. I really liked the room but my husband did not.

Our original reservations this year were in the Augustus tower but we moved to Harrahs to take advantage of Garth Brooks. To stay at Caesars would have meant a standard room and I%26#39;m not willing to take that chance. Our Harrahs host did guarentee us a suite there at least. I really like Harrahs so all will be well.

    Hey Ashe!

Ive had 2 different hosts now at Caesars, and both were terrible! I just will book my own offers and rooms from here on out over there, (or just call the Flamingo Host if I need to). Right now Ive got so many Reward Credits built up, its my understanding they cant comp you anything really until those are depleted. But, Ive never asked.

I didnt even have a Host at Flamingo, but I guess She must have checked on Diamond Members staying there during Jimmy Buffett Concert offer, and when I arrived there was the most gorgeous and generous tower of gift boxed treats, and snacks. Smart move on her part, now she will get my biz. :)

Regarding the rooms that are blocked for a Concert Offer. When I went online to book Garth, and chose Flamingo, it brought up the deluxe room, yet a call to My host and She was able to put me in a Go Strip View no problem. I was told that typically Marketing will attach the standard rooms to any Concert offer, but the Host can go in and put You in to the room of your choice. I am wondering if the Host You called, could have set You up in the Augustus Tower with the Garth Offer? Just food for thought....

I would love to check out and stay/play Harrahs sometime! The only HET properties Ive stayed at recently (last year and current year) are Caesars and Flamingo. Couple of yrs back would stay some at Paris, been forever since I stayed at Rio, I am looking for more variety with The Harrahs brands, looking forward to what You think about staying at Harrahs. :)

Oh, over the Weekend, I wrote my Flamingo Host about why I get so many more offers that are individual property specific at Caesars versus just mainly the universal ones for Flamingo that give you the choice of stay at any of the Vegas properties on an offer. She said that beginning the first of the Year, that Marketing will be changing the way they do offers. No more property specific offers, all offers will be universal, your choice of any property for a room stay (and Concerts, and the other perks that go along with rooms). Interesting!

I would think that the M Suite would go to 7 Stars then high Diamonds. I have no idea how many 7 Stars stay at Harrahs. I%26#39;m guessing most would stay at CP and Paris. If at the 40K and above tier level, I think, probably. But I over think everything :%26gt;)

    Malebird

Malebird, I would venture to say, thats about right. :) Need to look again to see how many of those M Suites (if it even says) that Harrahs now has.

    NYNY or Paris?

If you can stay at New York New York or Paris for the same rate, which would you choose?

    NYNY or Paris?

I would personally choose Paris. Great central location and a step up in class compared to NYNY.

What works for me may not be so good for you however. If I was in my 20s and wanted a fun party vibe then I would lean towards NYNY out of these two options. Be aware that if it%26#39;s going to be pool weather and a good pool is a big deal for you then neither of these would be a great choice.

    NYNY or Paris?

I would choose Paris. I like the hotel, casino, restaurant choices and location better.

If it was my choice, I%26#39;d pick Paris. I like the location and casino better.

Stay and gamble at Paris but eat at NYNY..

I like Gonzalez Y Gonzalez and II Fornaio.

    PARIS...everything about it is better!!

The pool is not a concern.

I have previously stayed at New York New York and liked it for the most part. I usually enjoy the active vibe, but at times wouldn%26#39;t mind it toning down a bit.

Although I have not stayed at Paris, I have stayed at Bally%26#39;s so I am pretty familiar with it. I am a bit concerned by the recent negative reviews about Paris, which seem to feel it has recently slipped in quality.

I%26#39;ll go against the majority here, I%26#39;ll get comped rooms at NY/NY and Paris and give the room at Paris to my daughter. Why? Some won%26#39;t believe but Paris slots suck, IMO staff is rude (guess what your not in the same class as Wynn, Belaggio and other high-end). NY/NY much more friendler and great bars, restuarants and great service. Paris has location but that is about it.

How old are you - Paris older crowd, NY/NY 20-40

I am in my late 30s, so I am at the end of what you consider to be the NYNY crowd. I have met people of all ages playing there, although I agree it tends to be younger.

I don%26#39;t see a huge difference in location since it is a brief walk between the two properties, especially in nice weather.

I play table games and have had some great dealers at NYNY as well as some with the personality of a doorknob. I like the restaurants at NYNY since they are casual yet decent quality and variety.

It%26#39;s been a few years since I played at Bally%26#39;s and Paris so I don%26#39;t remember the atmosphere all that well.

I like NY NY much better but that%26#39;s me. I think Paris is a nicer hotel in general but I don%26#39;t care for the vibe.

While I like NY NY, I would never pay full price for a room. For even money, Paris is probably the better choice.

It%26#39;s even money, but it%26#39;s well below full price. Both are more than partially comped.

Less than 8 hours before going to Vegas!!!!!

Been planning this trip for almost 4 months!! Extremely ecstatic!!! 3rd time, but first time with companion. But always on the edge of excitement-peeing! LOL

Less than 8 hours before going to Vegas!!!!!

Awww, I%26#39;m very happy for you! :) I%26#39;ve done Vegas solo, with companion and with lots of people. They%26#39;re all fun! Enjoy!

Less than 8 hours before going to Vegas!!!!!

    have fun!

And, after 4 long months the wait is finally over. Man oh Man, do I ever know the excitement Youre experiencing right now! Have a wonderful time, Youre all psyched up and ready to go!

hey guys for SOME reason ive been put in charge for planning things to do on our upcoming vaca so i could use some help. My boyfriend and I are meeting his parents for vacation in March...theyre coming from puerto rico were coming from New York. His parents LOVE to drink and dance but im wondering wheres a place they can enjoy at nighttime? I am 29 and i%26#39;m sort of over the hip club scene so any help would be appreciated since my boyfriend is sort of putting this all on me!!! thanks in advance guys!

    nightlife 50 somethings...

You didn%26#39;t say where you are staying, but most of the big hotel/casinos on the strip have bars that have live bands in the evenings. They play a lot of 70%26#39;s-80%26#39;s type dance music. Can%26#39;t actually give you the names of them though, although I am sure someone can!

    nightlife 50 somethings...

I%26#39;m sorry we%26#39;re staying at the MGM

    bump....please?lol

On a weeknight, I%26#39;d recommend VooDoo Lounge. Everyone will love the view from atop the Rio no matter their age, and it will have a more diverse crowd in terms of age and won%26#39;t be so packed with younglings as it would be on a weekend. They used to do a salsa night on Mondays if that%26#39;s something your in-laws would enjoy.

thanks that is something they would enjoy!

Usually good dance bands in the lounge at Bally%26#39;s.

Vegas! The Palazzo 11/14-11/16 Trip Report

    Day 1:

5:30pm! Finally! I can leave the office and head to the GF%26#39;s house where in exactly 1 hour we will be picked up and taken to the airport to start our vacation. 6:30pm rolls around and there is no sedan. Frantically dial the company and were told we don%26#39;t have a reservation but not to worry as someone will be there in 10 minutes. Arrive at the airport and breeze through security...oh no! Our flight is delayed 15 minutes. We start lining up and the gate agent tells us over the intercom if we are not loaded in 15 minutes we will be grounded for 2 hours. I have never seen so many motivated people in my life. Make it to Vegas without a hitch. Coming down the escalator to look for our limo driver and there is no sign. We arrive 10 minutes late so this should have been ample time as there were many other limo drivers that made it there on time. Finally get a hold of our driver who arrived 15 minutes after we did and he told us we picked a busy time. I didn%26#39;t really care and enjoyed the ride to the Palazzo with a glass of champagne.

Ahhh the Palazzo, my home away from home...oh geez now I smell that smell so many complain about...I have never smelled it before in my previous trips but now I know people don%26#39;t like it, it heightened my awareness of it. The GF noticed it immediately. I proceed to invited guest check in where a couple in front of us are clearly displeased. I proceed to the counter with my Amex card and ID in hand. Mimi tells me in order to accommodate all the guests checking in that I will need to be moved to the Venetian. I disagree and allow her to know I will be staying at the Palazzo and if I wanted the Venetian I would have booked the Venetian with my host. I said if you intend on moving me to the Venetian I expect a large upgrade...';I%26#39;m sorry sir but you can have a strip view.'; Keeping my cool I said you should probably work a little harder on finding me a room in the Palazzo then. Magically she finds one albeit with 2 queen beds...I didn%26#39;t care because I wanted the Palazzo over the Venetian. Finally make our way to our room without a further hitch, get changed and head to the lounge.

We were on the list for Lavo but the GF just got a new license and had not received it yet. Her old one was hole punched and therefore invalidated but she also had the slip they gave her that said she had a valid license...in my experience clubs won%26#39;t let you in with a punched license even with the piece of paper. We decide not to even bother. $26 bucks for two drinks...ouch! Prices have gone up since May and August. Head over to Players Club Grazzie to get my $200 in promo credit for the slots so the GF can have a little fun. We played for about 30 minutes and walked away with $262 bucks! I%26#39;ve gone some fresh $100 bills burning to hit the blackjack table. Win a quick $300 and then we head over to the Venetian to check out the lounge over there. Much livelier! A good size crowd and people dancing. Buy a couple more drinks for $30 w/ tip...come on we aren%26#39;t in a club this is ridiculous. At least they are strong. Head over to the Mirage to the Love Lounge and it is dead..hang out and have a drink and head back to the Venetian. Decide to take a break head up stairs for a bit. I take a shower (I hate smelling like smoke) and we nap for a bit. We head down around 3:30am to have my favorite drunk food in the world! The Grand Luxe Cafe BREAKFAST SANDWICH. These delightful sandwiches are the best thing since sliced bread and they do indeed contained sliced bread! Eggs, tomato, bacon, ham, swiss cheese...omg amazing. ($25 w/ tip) Play some more blackjack and all of a sudden we are up $1500 for the trip. We made a deal that if we made $1000 we would just go shopping with the money. We call it an evening with full stomachs and a full wallet.

    Day 2:

We wake up at 10:30am...woo 4 hours of sleep that has to be some kind of record for Vegas. Get ready and head down to find a restaurant. I like having no set destination. We walk by Sushi Samba and decide sushi sounds really good. I would identify myself as being a sushi connoisseur and while it was ok Sushi it didn%26#39;t really blow me away. It was above average but I have had much better. ($55 w/ tip) We head over to fashion show mall and then other various malls around Vegas. Make it back to the room around 6:45. We have dinner reservations at Zeffrino for 7:30pm. We have a $100 dining credit to the restaurant. It%26#39;s a nice restaurant with first class service. We decide on a bottle of Louis M. Martine 2006 from Napa. It%26#39;s a good wine and decently priced (although very marked up from what you would find at the store) We start with the fried calamari. I wasn%26#39;t expecting a giant squid but it%26#39;s what we got...the plate was huge! I had the potato soup which was good but the taste was reminiscent of asparagus. GF had the meditterainian sea bass and I had the linguine with crab, lobster and shrimp. Once again a huge portion. It was very good lots of shrimp crab and lobster. ($204 w/ tip). We head over to the Mirage to catch the 10pm show of Love. The GF is very excited about the show since she loves the Beatles. Before the show I donate $500 to the mirage... you are welcome MGM! We bought Orange Presses prior to the show but I think we were both over drinking at that point. (We had a lot of whiskey on my birthday which was Wednesday and I don%26#39;t think it had completely drained from our system yet). The show begins and it was awesome! Seriously a fantastic show. Towards the end of the show I get a big headache so we head back to the room and I get some Tylenol and close my eyes. We ended up just staying in the room that night.

    Day 3:

We both get up around 8:10am. I head down while the GF is getting ready to talk to a host about late check out. No probably we have our check out changed to 1:00pm. I start gambling and I%26#39;m down another $400...geez. I switch tables and promptly earn back my $400 deficit and the $500 the night before and I%26#39;m up another $300. I tell the GF of my winnings and we head out the door to the Wynn Brunch Buffet around 9:30am. It%26#39;s pricey ($60 for the both of us.) The brunch is very good though. I typically don%26#39;t like buffets since I tend not to eat a lot and I would rather spend the same amount on a nice meal. Very good though and if you like buffets the Wynn is very good.

We finished around 10:15 and head back to the casino to let the GF play some slots. Played $1 Wheel of Fortune hit 3 spins for $25, $25, and $30 and then lost the $100. I tell her if we win $200 in blackjack we will go play the $5 dollar WOF machine. Quickly win $200 to offset the loss and gain $100. Quickly get a spin and win $200. Play the rest of our $100 and then cash out for $200. Go back to the tables and played next to another guy from San Diego. End up another $500. Woo! Finally a good solid winning trip. $2500 up and no tax forms in sight! Pack up the room and head to the airport. Sat about 20 minutes on the tarmac and we were back in San Diego by 3:30pm. Overall a fun trip!

Vegas! The Palazzo 11/14-11/16 Trip Report

ARRRR! COuld you please e-mail me some of your luck for my trip this weekend? :)

Vegas! The Palazzo 11/14-11/16 Trip Report

Also, with a screen name like that aren%26#39;t you obligated to see Sirens of TI?

It used to be a cool show from what I remember but I haven%26#39;t had much desire to see the new one ever since they took the original Marquee down for Treasure Island and renamed it TI.

Also a side note. Vegas seemed more crowded on this trip than any other trip. I also didn%26#39;t notice any lack of service for drinks or any other use (other than the front desk wanting to put me at the Venetian.)

Pirates - did your GF notice the smell in the room itself or just the casino/hotel lobby?

Some fantastic luck you had this trip, nicely done!

I must be drunk everytime I go into the V, because I have never noticed the smell!!! I will make sure I am more aware this time.

Hey Stratton, have a great trip to Vegas, wishing You bunches of luck!

Pirates, thats a whirlwind of a Trip You had there, and congrats on the good luck. Sounds like You and the GF had a blast!

  • Wynn/Encore Comps

I leave for Vegas in a week and have two rooms comped at the Palazzo for 3 nights. I LOVED the P when I stayed there last year. The rooms are the perfect size for us (family of 3 w/ teenager) as they have the pullout couch.

However, I am a little nervous about the financial state of the Venetian/Palazzo. Will the gambling be tighter? Is their a serious possibility of them closing up their doors soon? Has anyone stayed there recently - has the service gone downhill?

I just visited the website for the Encore...and it looks amazing. I am wondering if I should spend time gambling next door at the Wynn on this trip so that I can get comped at the Encore in the future. What do you guys thing? And how much $ would I probably need to gamble to get comped at the Wynn/Encore? We mainly play VP.

    Thanks!

    Wynn/Encore Comps

Relax have fun and enjoy your trip!!

I will be staying at the V mid-December....(I am a worrier and am not worried that they are going to fold and go away).......if they do I will change my plans last minute :)

I would keep my reservation if I were you.....I would also gamble a bit at the Wynn if you want some offers later on. You will have to be a higher roller to get comped at the Wynn though.....

Enjoy your trip with your family!! Lea :)

    Wynn/Encore Comps

We dropped somewhere in the neighborhood of $3k when we were at the P over the summer. We probably won%26#39;t be spending as much this trip though with the way the economy is going...yikes!

They have taken good care of us at the P. For that kind of $, will we get the same at the Wynn? And does this kind of action warrant a ';host';? I am new at this comp thing.

';dropped?'; Bet in total? If you used a bankroll of $3000 or so, that would represent much more through a VP machine as you re-bet your wins etc. VP is comped at generally 1/2 the rate as slots and $3000 bankroll or ';dropped'; will not get much at Wynn especially over a several day period. Think $3000 into the machine several times over a couple days. Or think comped buffet.

The amount of money you lose, is not necessarily the basis to earn comps.

the generic basis for comps at table games is the $ bet a hand on how many hours you play. Usually a minimum of 4 hour basis. If you bet $100 a hand for an hour, might not get much of anything.

On slot machines, they are looking at how much money goes thru the machine and the number of hours of play. You might lose $3000 in a few hours in slots or you might lose $300 in 12 hours of play and actually run $15,000 thru the machines. the casinos like to see lots of money in and out of slots.

The casinos will also notice how many times a year you visit. If they think you are there once a year, they would favor a person who goes 4 times a year.

Each casino has guidelines, but there is latitude and variations beyond your contral, like lousy business right now.

What do I do? play a lot and if I am near even after 3 days. I quit playing at that point. so it looks like I ran a lot of money thru the machines.

I would at least go next door to the Wynn and sign-up for their slot card(it%26#39;s called the red card) because you will then most likely get emailed room promotions from the Wynn even if you don%26#39;t drop a cent in their casino.

To answer the OP%26#39;s actual questions:

Will the gambling be tighter? There was a recent interview where Mr. Adelson indicated a slot hold somewhat higher than is typical. It could be a minor fluctuation, or indicate that LVS has actually reduced slot payouts. They have certainly removed all decent VP games.

Is their a serious possibility of them closing up their doors soon? No.

Has the service gone downhill? No evidence of this yet.

We%26#39;re staying at the Venetian next week as well, though we will not gamble there much, if any, since we are also VP players.

Don%26#39;t worry about LVS%26#39;s financial state - even if they should become in technical default of some of their finance covenants, they certainly would not shut down their source of income. At worst, future plans will be trimmed back (have been in fact, e.g. the condo tower, plans in Macau) and, as you%26#39;ve seen decent games will vanish.

    Good Luck!

    i totally agree with BRIDGEMAN

as forLT LISTNERFI betting 25 cent vp and then $200 plus blackjack.I will be there last week nov will be picked up limo from wynns plus salon suite rfb and you dont get that kind of comps jumping from 25 cents slots to $ 200 tables

I have doubts that they are reprogramming machnes, but rather yanking machines out and replacing them with tighter machines. But maybe, the machines they remove from service do get tightened then placed on the floor again. like converting 9/6 machines to 8/5.

But,,,,, when people do not win, and see no one else winning, they tend to leave fast and not return to that casino.

I wonder how many thousand players avoid the harrahs joints with 6/5 blackjack for that reason.

    Treasure Island - Questions

    Hi,

Will be at the TI in 9 days and would like to know what do you like or dislike from Treasure Island.

Any slot machine you would recommend?

    Thanks!

    Treasure Island - Questions

Love the 2 cent machines right between the elevators and the steakhouse. Blazing 7%26#39;s and black and white 7%26#39;s. My sil has hit the top jackpot there 3 trips in a row.

    Treasure Island - Questions

I like the decor of the rooms, the location, the size, and the service. I don%26#39;t like the smokiness of the casino, the look and feel of the casino, and the Sirens. I%26#39;ve had good meals at both Isla and Kahunaville.

We%26#39;ve stayed there and had a nice time. The room was nice and had a great view. No problems.

Red, White and Blue $1 machine by the Monopoly Bank (by the Bar around the Buffet) was wonderful -- we were playing our $250 in free play and hit for $3,600 -- and an hour before leaving so went home up for a change! Also a 2 cent slotto game with a bubble in the middle of it by the watch shop -- hit $1,000 each day...helped with DH and my bankroll that trip!

Wow! thanks a lot for all the info ... can%26#39;t wait to go. I think I will not be able to sleep, I am so excited! Thanks!

We really liked the quiet rooms and comfy beds. Mystere is a great show. The whole place has nice vibe. I didn%26#39;t like the ';Sirens of TI'; show. That%26#39;s 15 minutes of my life I can never get back. Also I didn%26#39;t care much for having a strip-view room as you get to hear the cannons from the show regularly until after 11:30. Ear plugs helped.

I liked the progressive machines that are to the left of the guest elevators and in the back corner. I just kept winning on them....until I lost :(

Definitely go to Isla, great food. Avoid Kahunaville. I don%26#39;t play slots, but had good luck and great dealers on the blacjack table just outside the high roller area during the weekdays.

    Have a great time!

Oh boy, TI is one of our favorites. The location is great, there is a lot around there, in all directions. When you check in they will probably give you a little packet with some coupons, one of them will be a 7.99 bkfst at Kahunaville, which is decent and reasonably priced, just know that any drinks, coffee, milk, oj, will run up the bill like 3.50 or so for each drink,so I usually order water, (because I am cheap) but its%26#39; what I like! Lets%26#39; see, their beds are absolutely wonderful, and they redid their rooms and are very comforting. Sometimes I go to Canters real late at night and order a corn beef for the morning, cause they don%26#39;t open till 11 am but I keep it chilled real good back in the room so I can have it for bkfst. They have lot%26#39;s of different games, however I did just find out that they took out their W O Z and W O F machines...so I%26#39;ll have to try to get over that,,,The tram is a plus, to get you quickly over to Mirage, and Harrahs across the street etc. We have eaten at their Steakhouse once, and it is reasonably priced (by LV standars)and it was good.

I made the mistake of eating the 7.99 bkft special at Kahaunaville once and got nailed on the coffee and oj. The Buffet breakfast is less expensive than $4 oj and 3.50 coffee. and it took forever to get breakfast served at K.

Oh no, I was looking forward to the W of O slot machines ... :(

Where I live there is an Indian Casino and the few times I have gone there ... the W of O slots are always busy, have never been able to play on them.

    sniff, sniff, sniff,

    Mirage/TI Tram

    Quick question:

anyone know if the tram between the two hotels runs 24 hrs?

Thanks in advance and no thanks to snarky replies ;) haha

    Mirage/TI Tram

It runs 9am - Midnight Sunday through Thursday and 9am - 3am Friday and Saturday.

Answered in as polite a fashion as possible..... :-)

    Mirage/TI Tram

When I was there in late September it stopped ( I think ) at 2am.

    Rob

Oops! Just checked and I gave wrong information in my previous post. It%26#39;s 9am - 1am on Sunday through Thursday. Weekend timings were correct.

Thanks Blagger and Rob :) Much appreciated!

    Love or Mystere

I am going to be in Las Vegas is just 5 short days, I just saw that I can get Love tickets for 25% off, my plan was to buy tickets for Mystere thru tix4tonite or something similar.

Should I just go ahead and buy the Love tickets at this discounted rate or is Mystere better to see.

I am taking my mom who is a big Beatles fan so I think maybe I should do Love instead. Most people reccomended that I go see Mystere since neither one of us has been to a Cirque show.

Thanks in advance for your help?

    Love or Mystere

You can%26#39;t really lose whichever you decide. I%26#39;m one of those who normally recommends Mystère as a great first time Cirque experience, though neither show is ';better to see'; - they%26#39;re just different.

In this particular case your mom%26#39;s love of the Beatles coupled with the 25% discount would actually have me leaning towards LOVE for you guys.

    Love or Mystere

I agree with the recommendation of Love. The Beatles was THE musical group that I listened to when I was young, so I am a fan of Beatles music.

That is why I am choosing to see Love when I go to Vegas.

    I agree completely with Blagger.

Love is more of a theater experience, Mystere is more of the circus atmosphere.

Not to get sidetracked, where is the 25% off ticket deal?

We already bought our Love tickets at full price, but may consider a second show if we can get a discount.

Nevermind. Just checked the show%26#39;s website directly. Its right there for certain dates.

As others have mentioned, Mystere is a very traditional, acrobatic Cirque show, which is why it%26#39;s often recommended for Cirque first-timers, but given the 25% deal on Love is such a good deal, and the fact that your mom is a big Beatles fan throws it over the top - go with Love! It%26#39;s truly an amazing show - I took my mom, also a Beatles fan, and we were both blown away by how incredible it is. I%26#39;ve seen Mystere too, and really liked it, but Love is my favorite show I%26#39;ve seen on the strip, and probably the only one I%26#39;d see a second time!

I agree with all the other posters. I am one who usually recommends Mystere first but with the discount and your mom being a big Beatles fan-definitely go with Love. It is a fantastic show. If you have time then you can see Mystere- or see it next time you are in Vegas. It is very different from Love. Not better- not worse- just different.

I just checked the tix4tonight sneak peak and Love was 50% off.

One of our relatives said it best:

    ';You know, this [LOVE] is just one of those things that you will be glad you did when you get to the pearly gates.';

That is such a good way to put it, dsoren. I have seen Love twice and left the theater feeling wonderful both times. It%26#39;s testament to the beautiful gift the Beatles gave the world when they made their music.

  • Resturant help

Looking for some advice for a couple meals for next week, I have looked at several sites for meal ideas and I am drawing a blank.

    Looking for a few things:

I have Tendonitis so I really have to limit my walking this trip, looking for places to eat in

MB, Luxor, NYNY and MGM Grand.

Lunch, looking for something between 15.00 and $20.00

no alcohol needed and before tax and tip.

I was thinking Wolf Gang Pucks- would $20.00 be enough for either a grilled panini sandwich or a pizza?

I do not need dessert or appitizer.

Can I dine in jeans and tennis shoes there?

I am also looking for a dinner in one of the above mentioned hotels, looking to spend 20.00 to 25.00 before tax tip/ again dont need appitizer or alcohol.

    Thanks in advance

    Resturant help

    ';Lunch, looking for something between 15.00 and $20.00';

A $20 bill will get you TWO complete Sirloin Steak Specials at Ellis Island with 8 ounce steak, salad, baked potato and green beans plus beer or root beer, INCLUDING a nice tip.

    BONE APPETITE!!

    Resturant help

I know you%26#39;ll be at Four Seasons, so there are a couple of places at MB that will be within your budget.

The Noodle Shop next to the buffet is great for lunch or a lite dinner. The Noodle sopus are great.

Red, White %26amp; Blue. Red is a bistro and out of your price range, but Blue would work. It is more casual and has soups, sandwiches %26amp; salads. White is a bakery with very good desserts.

Wolfgang has a place at MB, but I%26#39;m not a big fan of his, so I haven%26#39;t eaten there. But if it%26#39;s like his place at MGM a pizza %26amp; soda should be just under $20.

For lunch or dinner I would suggest Burger Bar at MB, House of Blues at MB, Gonzalez Y Gonzalez, America and Il Fornaio at NYNY.

Rainforest Cafe at MGM has a few good dishes - I like the Rasta Pasta and the crab cakes.

Sorry, can%26#39;t help with the Wolf Gang Pucks question as I%26#39;ve never been there.

    Have a great trip.

A big Thank You to everybody-

I am probably going to do II Fornaio for dinner- I hear there have a mean rosterrie chicken dish.

Lunch will either be MGM Pucks or the Noodle Shop, or Burger Bar. Not sure which yet.

I will check out white for dessert, I always have room for desert.

Wolfgang%26#39;s at MGM is pretty good. Jeans and sneakers are fine. A punk got tossed out for no shirt when I was there. You didn%26#39;t ask about a shirt but you%26#39;ll need one.

Grand Wok at MGM is good if you like Asian/Chinese style food.

I%26#39;d avoid that Red/White/Blue place and Puck%26#39;s Lupo at MGM.

The Asian place and coffee shop at NYNY are pretty good.

Hey Snidley nice to hear from you again, thanks for the Puck%26#39;s tip.

I may eat at Chin Chin, too many places not enough meals.

I will make sure I bring a shirt to wear while in Wolfgangs.

I hope to see you and your Wife at the Meet and Greet 11/26 at 430pm, I have a small white trip advisor button I will have on me or on my purse.

Others have given some good recommendations, but I just thought I%26#39;d add %26#39;wichcraft (MGM Grand), a great, fast, and inexpensive sandwich place by Tom Colicchio, chef of the Craft restaurants, like Craftsteak.

Snidely, I think you meant avoid Red, White and Blue and Puck%26#39;s Lupo at Mandalay Bay, not MGM. ;) I concur wholeheartedly!

If you like Mexican try Border Grill at Mandalay Bay. It%26#39;s authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex, so don%26#39;t expect your typical nachos and burritos, but it is excellent Mexican food.

Chicago you know me too well, I am having Thanksgiving at Border Grill.

Last year they did turkey Mole, sounds good.

    turkey mole!.... ::::mouth watering::::

Their flan is one of my all-time favorites, and I am a flan queen. :D

  • Monte Carlo Pool - Open??

I have heard that the pools at the Monte Carlo were supposed to be closed as of November 3rd. Their website states that the pool is open from 9 to 4 pm daily until November 23rd. We are leaving this Thursday and I need to know if I should bring a bathing suit. Thanks.

    Monte Carlo Pool - Open??

You can leave the bathing suit at home. The Monte Carlo pools are closed for renovation until June 2009.

In fairness, you probably would have found it too chilly to swim anyway.

    Monte Carlo Pool - Open??

I%26#39;m sorry, I misread your post. It may be that the pool will remain open until the 23rd, but given the cool weather and the construction noise and dust from the City Center project right next to the pool, you probably won%26#39;t want to go swimming anyway.

Or, you could call the Monte Carlo and ask them if pool is open and that the current conditions are at the pool (construction, dust, weather). Just a thought.

The MC pool was scheduled to close Nov 3rd for a total reconstruction-however, this plan has been put on ';hold'; and the pool will remain open until Nov 23. We were there in the beginning of the month and the pool seemed unaffected by the surrounding construction. We were also there in June and although there was some noise from the City Center construction the music helped block it out and the pool was enjoyable.

    Janice

i walked right by the pool on wednesday, the 12th on the way to bijoux terner and it LOOKED to be closed. it was around 1230pm.

That%26#39;s too bad for us if it is closed. The weather there would not be too cold for us to swim. We live in Canada!!!! Thanks for all the info. I guess we will just leave the suits at home and spend more time gambling!!!

Before you leave those suits home why not give a quick call to the MC and find out for yourselves if it is still open. They usually shut down the lazy river and wave pool but leave the main pool open. if I call my host later today I%26#39;ll try to get you a definitive answer. You would be disappointed if you found it open and didn%26#39;t have your bathing suit with you.

    Janice

The pools will be closed. The lagoon pool was open, but not anymore. The MC pool area gets a lot of shade and it is too chilly to swim. Many pools say ';heated';, yeah right! Even in mid March the heated pools are chilly.

    Christmas in laughlin

I will be in Laughlin for a few days in December and was wondering if their was a must see Holiday displays in the surounding area? Is the Riverwalk decorated? Any help or suggestions will be very appreciated. Thank You

    Christmas in laughlin

All of the river walk will be decorated, especially behind the Pioneer. Believe it or not, the places are starting to assemble their decorations already.

By the way, the Pioneer is adding a large addition on the north side of the casino. It is almost completed.

Susie and I will be spending the entire Christmas-New Year%26#39;s Holiday season in Wisconsin. I am reinforcing my long-johns already. Burrrrrr!

    Christmas in laughlin

    Thanks for the info.

What kind of addition is the Pioneer adding?

I always enjoy visiting the Pioneer.

Hey Grif, we used to go to Wisconsin every Christmas but this year we talked the kids into celebrating Christmas on Thanksgiving! The weather should not be as severe at that time, we hope! Always hate that Chicago traffic, even in dry conditions.

I assume it is a casino addition. I will ask next time.

If it is in fact an addition - that is exciting!!

I don%26#39;t think there is any addition to the Pioneer. They are putting up new siding and signage on the outside. However, I hope I am wrong and there is something new at the Pioneer.

Pioneer is getting rid of the outhouses and installing restrooms with real running water. Thats good as i will be having thanksgiving dinner there!

    There is an addition.

On the Pioneer%26#39;s website it says they are getting a a new look. (I think he used the word facelift) It%26#39;s under Rodger%26#39;s Ramblings, Cowboy corner.

11/08/08 My mom, sister and I left Louisiana and headed for Sin city bright and early and were greeted by our driver around 11am. My mom had rented the car/driver and we were pleasantly surprised when we stepped out to find a limo waiting for us. Checked into the Paris right away - no line. Had a great view on the 16th floor. The room was clean and seemed fairly new. We immediately took a cab to Mand Bay to eat at the Burger Bar. It took close to an hour to get a table. After being seated, we noticed that the booths had tvs and the LSU/Alabama game was on. Mom got us switched to a booth and we watched a good bit of the game while eating some of the best burgers and fries(order the sweet potato fries). We split a ridgefield and a black angus. The ridgefield was better. Went back to the MB to throw a few bills in the slots and should have just burned them instead. We weren%26#39;t impressed with the payouts at all. Took the tram and then walked to NYNY. We were looking for the off track betting lounge/sports book. They have changed it and we were turned off. Played penny

';loose diamonds'; and each left with a few extra. Back to Paris to change for dinner and a show. while wating for a cab, the attendant asks us if we want to rent a limo. This guy behind us asks how much to go to Paris. Sis says ';We%26#39;re going to Paris too';. The guy ends up treating us to the limo ride(which was $50). Apparently, he had just placed in a Hold em tourney. Went to Bellagio(mom%26#39;s fav-had to hear how much the whole trip!) to have appetizers @ Olives. Cosmo for Mom, whiskey sour for sis, Mich Ultra for me also had 2 apps but they were not memorable. Cabbed it to Mirage to see Ray Ramono/ Kevin James. I was so fired up. This was the reason I went on this trip. Well, one of the reasons. Anyway, it seemed like they were tired and didn%26#39;t have much material. Lots of Vegas jokes. By the time the show started it was after 10pm(midnight by my watch) and we got back to the room after 12am. The bed @ Paris was heavenly with nice firm feathered pillows. Will post a reply about Sunday. Lookout! We stayed busy!

    las vegas tr

Hey, keep it coming now. We like the Burger Bar as well. Although we usually just stop in for a ';dessert'; burger and an apple beer.

    las vegas tr

Wondering if you guys have been to both the Burger Bar at Mand Bay and the Burger Brassaire in Paris.I have only been to the one in Paris and love it .Does it compare? I guess we will have to try it out for

ourselves next trip to LV ,cause we all know there is GOING to be a NEXT TIME !!!!!

11/09/08 I woke up @ 7am ready to go! Showered and went down to the bakery(name?). Had a yogurt parfait that was thick and rich - yummy! Also shared a blueberry muffin with sis that was deelish! Went to Bellagio, which I%26#39;m sure mom dreamed about last nite, around 10am. Walked around the conservatory. It was beautiful, as usual. Cool tree trunks with faces along with little green elf-like creatures. Enormous pumpkins and fabulous rain trees that were mesmerizing. Gambled for a couple of hours. Had fun playing penny quick hit. Met mom and sis @ Sensi for lunch. Complimentary ';Indian Flatbread'; before eating. I wanted to take some home but they had run out of dough. It was very, very tasty - tasted a bit like a waffle but the texture was that of soft pita. Mom had soup with hearty veggies, sis had lobster rolls and Marguerita Pizza for me. Mom asks waiter for a piece of chocolate and he brings us each a tiny(think chinese food takeout) box filled with little cookies - all at no charge. Went back to gamble a little then back to Paris so mom and sis could get ready for Beatle%26#39;s LOVE(i%26#39;ve seen it twice so i%26#39;m passing). They left me and I walked next door to Bally%26#39;s. I%26#39;m playing video poker(25cents) when I notice all of this commotion near me. A chick hit a Royal playing dollar poker... $4000! Don%26#39;t you know, I hit a Royal 30 minutes later...$1000 for me. I%26#39;ll take it! Played until mom and sis call me @ 9pm to say they%26#39;re back. We meet for crepes @LeCreperie. The crepes are huge and should be split between 3. We got 2 crepes and brought them back to the room which I ate for b%26#39;fast. Have had the AC on 60 for 2 days now and it%26#39;s still not cold. Comfortable but not cold like we like it. Still had a restful sleep.

11/10/08 We are not late sleepers so it was not a surprise when the clock showed 8am upon first opening my eyes. Sis went to the bakery for tea, fruit and croissants. Room service for free! Mom and I took a cab to Sam%26#39;s Town around 10am. Had heard, thru TA, that their slots were a little looser. It seemed like they had 10,000 slot machines. We separted upon arrival. I hit a Royal in the first 20 minutes. Probably not a good thing as I%26#39;m likely to spend more if I have more. Only blew $200. Mom and I met sis @ Venetian and we walked to Plazzo where we had reservations @ Dos Caminos. The guacamole is the best I%26#39;ve ever ever had. Could have made that my meal, had we not shared. We ordered the tacos al carbon - not good, tasteless - and the shrimp quesadillas that were terrific. I treated since I was the only one on a winning streak. We walked to the Wynn as sis had never seen it. Not much action there but it%26#39;s still a really classy place. Love to look @ the flower arrangements and stare @ the waterfall. We took a cab to Bill%26#39;s to see Big Elvis%26#39; show. Bill%26#39;s was extremely crowded and, compared to other casinos on the strip, at the bottom of my list. We got there @ 3:45 and the show was @ 4:30. Got great seats and enjoyed the hour long show. His emcee said Elvis had lost over 560 pounds! Hard to believe since he still appears to weigh well over 400. He puts on a pretty good show. It is one of the free things to do in Vegas and I recommend it. Gambled on a quick hit while sis guarded the table in the lounge. Hit free spins totally 65 free spins. Won $140 in about 20 minutes. Couldn%26#39;t lose with my lucky undies on! Took a cab back to Paris to get ready for dinner at

N9NE Steakhouse @ the Palms casino. Had drinks at the bar and were seated not long after. After eating our appetizer - oysters and a chop salad, they were clearing our table and spilled a glass of water on Mom. The manager comes up and offers us free dessert. Told him I wanted the Smores and he gladly brought them. They were so cool! A little black kettle with grate and fire, skewers, chocolate covered grahams and marshes. It was a ball to make them and to top it off, there was a small cup of chocolate gelato. You must to there just for this! We ordered a 12 oz filet and they cut it in slices for us to split, also had creamed spinach and good bread. After dinner, the manager gave us comps to go to any nightclub and we chose the Playboy Bunny Club. Took some pics. Didn%26#39;t know they had gaming tables inside the club. Good view of the city. Didn%26#39;t even stay 5 minutes but felt we had to go. Cabbed it back to Paris. Tossed and turned this night for some reason. Will reply for the rest later.

11/11/08 Woke up itching to go back to Sam%26#39;s town. Took a cab. Entered a ';Texas Hold em'; tourney for $23...best deal in town. Each of us were given $500 in chips and that last me 2 1/2 hours. I made it to the final table but was short stacked along with 3 others. Didn%26#39;t last but a few hands. I had only watched it on TV and had never played so it was a terrific experience for me that didn%26#39;t cost a lot. Met sis and mom @ guess where? Bellagio! Played a penny video slot called Reel Millions. Talk about fun! Mom was hooked and had been playing for several hours by the time I got there. Sis hit 2 jackpots after sitting down next to me. She left mom and me behind and we stayed 2 more hours. Time to head back to Paris and get ready for the night. Dinner @ 5:15 @ MESA Grill @ Caesar%26#39;s. Marg for sis, Stoli/7up for me, Cosmo for mom. I ordered an appetizer of chips/ cheesey something, sis and mom got a hearty salad that they totally loved. They split the lamb chops(5oz each!) with a pumpkin tamale. Lamb was fabulous, tamale not so fab. I had the tiger shrimp appetizer with a roasted corn tamale and all of it was very good. Sis and I walked to the Forum shops and got a few magnets @Magnus magnets and met mom for Bette Midler. Bette was beyond words. She looks great, for 63, and sounds even better. Went back to Paris where I played Let it Ride until 2am. Didn%26#39;t win but had a ball.

11/12/08 Did not want to get out of bed on our last day! Lack of sleep and lots too much fun caught up with me. Went to ';Bodies'; with sis. Glad I wasn%26#39;t hung over or I probably wouldn%26#39;t have gotten thru it! It was pricier that I thought it would be, but I highly recommend it and also the audio set to go along with it. We ate at Mon Ami Gabi before heading to the airport. DO NOT GET THE FRENCH ONION SOUP!!! It%26#39;s awful! Do order the frites and the cheeseburger. Hope you enjoyed my log/report. I can%26#39;t wait to go back!

Loved your TR. Thanks for sharing. Can%26#39;t wait for our trip Feb. 17th. Our first visit Downtown. Staying at Fremont.

Great TR thanks for sharing your trip to Vegas.

Thanks for the TR, love your TA name.

We leave Sat hope to have as much fun and good eats as yall! Looking forward to watching the LSU/OLE MISS

game. Probably will needs lots of drinks for this game also.

Sis asked me to clarify a few things. She thought the burger @ Mon Ami Gabi was better than the Black Angus burger she got @ Burger Bar. I think it was a toss up. But, DON%26#39;T GET THE FRENCH ONION SOUP! Also, the bakery near the elevators @ Paris is called Le Notre. One more thing, she says to be sure and let everyone know that ';The Chocolate Swan'; has delicious eclairs. Mom says to say that Bellagio has everything you need and more!!!!!
