Free Spins

Which slots have you played where the bonus gives you free spins?

Only 4 days to go, whoopee!

Free Spins

Money Storm. Not many of those machines around anymore, but its a fun one.

Free Spins

TONS of games have free spins, look at the pic above the game it usually says ';win X free spins';. I too like Money Storm (and a big one too!), Sun and Moon has been very kind to me over the years.

Best Sports Book Downtown

Will be DT one night Dec 6th. I%26#39;ve stayed at the GN in the past and their sports book is just ok.. Kind of small.

Can anyone suggest a good sports book downtown? That Saturday Night is a good one. SEC Championship FL vs Alabama. De Le Hoya Fight, NBA, NCAA BB.. A lot of action.

Thanks

Best Sports Book Downtown

what does a ';best'; sportsbook mean to you? We know size is important. How does small mean ';just OK'; - if you have a comfortable seat, a place to place bets and a place to watch the game what else do you want besides larger than the GN?

Best Sports Book Downtown

Hmmm.

Well i guess DT Books differ from Strip Books.. Comp Drinks, large enough to get a seat with a view, comfortable seats.

Those are good for starts.

I%26#39;d check out Binion%26#39;s. I was just there and the seats are pretty comfortable with about 8 large hi def TVs above the counter. Looks like it%26#39;s been recently redone.

That%26#39;s another big difference about Downtown....the sportsbooks aren%26#39;t nearly as big as the ones on the Strip. If I%26#39;m not mistaken, I believe they%26#39;re all about the same size as the one at the Nugget. I thought the ones at the Plaza and Vegas Club are pretty good.

I like the El Co but the one at Binion%26#39;s is nice too.

I think the Vegas Club sports book was shut down but the Plaza which did the lines for them is still running. If you want to shop for lines there are 6 of them downtown. If you want to just watch, Plaza and Golden Nugget are okay.

Back from Vegas - TR to follow

Back from Vegas (Nov 15). My 6th trip in 3 yrs and one of the best yet.

I will write my first ever TR later in the week.

Quick observations:

Monday was a ghost town!!! The rest of the week was busier but not much.

Doesn%26#39;t anyone tip anymore? Many occasions no tips went to hard working industry folks (shuttle drivers, bellhops, waitresses)

Palazzo, what an amazing hotel, I am afraid I can%26#39;t go anywhere else.

Brits (as they want to be called)are great fun, had a blast with some of them great folk one night.

My first ';Lady of the night experiance'; wow was I dissapointed!! (this should keep you interested in my TR.

Will post within the next couple of days.

Cheers,

Thunder down under/ Chippendales Question

So,

I have never been to this type of show before, and I want to know, just how much do you get to see? I%26#39;m a fairly modest person, but I thought a show might be fun, just not sure if it goes farther than I want to see.

Thanks!

Thunder down under/ Chippendales Question

You won%26#39;t see anything that you wouldn%26#39;t see at a beach or pool. Except the guys wearing speedos are typically much hotter :)

Thunder down under/ Chippendales Question

yup i agree with the other poster. it%26#39;s almost more fun to watch the other ladies that have had too much to drink jump up and down. i have never laughed so much! those women were down right funny. go see for your self. cheers!!!

Downtown Cocktail Room

Anyone ever visited this place? Any reviews? I couldn%26#39;t find any.

Downtown Cocktail Room

I%26#39;ve never heard of it.......where is it??

Downtown Cocktail Room

Their website says the entrance is on Las Vegas Blvd just south of Fremont. I was wondering if the place was worth checking out when touring thru downtown. I%26#39;ve never seen it mentioned in these forums before.

Downtown Cocktail Room is a nice little gem downtown. The interior vibe is somewhat like an ultra lounge without the attitude you would get at other such places. The staff behind the bar are true mixologists and prepare outstanding cocktails that are of superior quality and at much lower prices than some club on the strip. It%26#39;s always worth taking a look at their seasonal cocktail menu to see what new libations await. The interior is dimmly lit with deep reds and plenty of interesting art around. Restrooms are also pretty nice, and a little different too. Vibe can range from a low key place to have a conversation to a place to shake your booty. The DJ usually spins down tempo house, sometimes spiced up with live musicians. Very cool vibe all in all. If your looking for top 40 tripe skip this place. No skin heads at the door acting like it%26#39;s a privilege for you to be allowed in. No cover charge. Bartenders and waitresses are always friendly and on their game. When you go, push the metal, not the glass to enter.

Hey is this that funky place with the brick exterior where it is hard to find how to get in? ( thanks for tip about the glass Steve). I understand they have Happy Hour 4-8 M-F with $3 beers and $5 well drinks- maybe that would be a good time to check it out( if we can find our way in). If you are having trouble with the door, will someone help you...or just enjoy watching you struggle?

They%26#39;ll enjoy watching you struggle.

Not sure why this old post was brought back to life.

I%26#39;ve had the pleasure of visiting this place several times since I posted this in 2007.

The descriptions shown by Steve are accurate.

This is 1 of my favorite places in downtown Vegas to have a few drinks.

Wow, this thing came back to life because I didn%26#39;t read the YEAR the question was asked....I just read the month.

Yes, if you struggle at the door people inside will get a little chuckle, and yes, more than likely they will assist you getting in. Lets face it, most people have had problems figuing out where the door really is. Even after I had been there a few times... one night... I slammed right into the glass trying to get in, and I hadn%26#39;t even had a cocktail yet. Ooopps!

Great place, great vibe and great drinks!!! Restrooms are pretty cool too.

And then theres the nights Alicia is working.

Sigh.

I need to get back to Vegas.

Staying in Reno but decided to drop down into Carson City to eat dinner with my brother. He suggested the buffet at this casino on the south end of town. It only took a half hour or so from the Peppermill. The casino isn%26#39;t big but it reminds me of the Peppermill with all of the lights inside. I wanted to get a players club card and asked at the cashier%26#39;s cage where to do so and she took down my info and went over and got it for me herself. That was very nice and/or she was very bored. The dinner buffet was usually $13.95 but August specials on Wed cut the price to $9.95 with a player%26#39;s card. Excellent selection and quality of food at the buffet. A variety of Asian hot foods, sushi (better than any other buffet I%26#39;ve seen), Mexican (tamales looked homemade!), seafood, carved meats, full salad bar, and full dessert bar. Also, 10-12 different flavors of gelato. Yes, gelato, not your typical soft serve out of a machine. I%26#39;d highly recommend this buffet and will return. I didn%26#39;t get a chance to play there but the variety of slots and vp looked good, and there are table games. There is also a coffee shop and steakhouse in the casino. The casino has covered garage parking (3-4 levels) and there is a Marriott Courtyard being built next door (casino does not have a hotel). Up the hill just above the casino they just opened a new digitial multiplex - I think it might be 10 screens. All in all, looks like this is a winner!

    Casino Fandango TR 8/15/07

I think the prices at the buffet have gone back to regular. You only get the discount if you are using the players club points. Why go to Carson wen we have much more in Reno! Unless I%26#39;m getting someone else to pay for dinner! :)

    Casino Fandango TR 8/15/07

One reason to go is to just enjoy getting away from Reno for a few hours!

Weather we go to Reno and stay couple days at Peppermill or Atlantas we always take off for Tahoe or Carson City and gamble and have lunch at Fandango%26#39;s or Bodines, the newest casino.

When staying a week at our timeshare Ridge Tahoe we do same thing and drive up to Reno for few hours!

  • Romance

Given that you have unlimited funds whats the most romantic restaurant in Las Vegas.

    Romance

I used to work in the kitchen of a very upscale and fancy restaurant. From my experience, restaurants are pretty dirty and gross. Here are my stories.

Food was handled with our bare hands all the time, which is the most disturbing because we never washed our hands. We were never trained to wash hands. There was one sink for all the servers, that didn%26#39;t even have hand soap located nearby!

The floors in the kitchen were hardly mopped, the drawers were never cleaned out, things were tossed around and not stored properly. There was grime and dirt on the floors and walls. Counter tops were merely brushed off and not sanitized. Water was kept in the ';sanitation bucket'; which was supposed to be filled with sanitizing liquid.

    Final Verdict:

Before you order, go to the bathroom and peek behind the counters at the kitchen. If you see something dirty, most likely the rest of the place looks the same!

    Enjoy your meal in Vegas.

    Romance

Well thanks for your help . I guess now i just have to starve to death or never eat where you work.

Sorry Chevy, I cannot help with the romantic spot. But also sorry that that jerk needed to reply and not even come close to answering your question. From his post of late, his background may explain his mental state.

Unlimited funds? Room service in the Skylofts.

The Eiffel Tower restaurant is a popular choice.

UGA%26#39;s just upset because the Dogs %26amp; Coach Richt just can never seem to live up to expectations...or beat UF.

I second the Tower, but would point you towards Picasso at Bellagio. Fountain views, and GREAT meals and ambiance. Enjoy!

I would have to say Alex at the Wynn

but he/she has the best breed of dog in the world :)

Everyone%26#39;s idea of romantic is different. I%26#39;m older so my idea is: soft lights, soft music (or none), tables that aren%26#39;t close together allowing some degree of privacy, service that is present but not obtrusive, a relaxed pace between courses, and most importantly the ability to speak to the person with whom you are dining without having to raise your voice.

Surprisingly enough very few Las Vegas restaurants fall within this category. Las Vegas does ';hip %26amp; trendy'; a lot better than intimate and romantic. That being said:

    1. Alex at Wynn.

    2. Picasso at Bellagio

    3. Alize at Palms. If you consider view romantic Alize is by far the best of the ';view restaurants';. But it can sometimes get a little noisy.

There are some top-rated gourmet restaurants that I haven%26#39;t been to, like Robechon or Guy Savoy that are supposed to be outstanding. But I don%26#39;t see them referred to as romantic, so I kind of assume that type of atmosphere is not their goal.

    Before Dec. 31- Andre%26#39;s downtown

    http://www.andrelv.com/original/

    After: Alize

    http://www.andrelv.com/alize/home

You can%26#39;t beat the food, service or ambience at either restaurant. I think they are so much better than the Top of the World or Eiffel Tower.

i would also say Alize at the Palms.

wonderful service, excellent food and a very romantic view and atmosphere.

we had the chef%26#39;s tasting menu with wine pairing and it was probably the best meal i%26#39;ve ever had. simply perfect.
