Nice surprise from Atlantis!

I was very surprised to recieve an email from Atlantis offering me a free night. I stay there several times a year, but don%26#39;t gamble. What%26#39;s up with a non-gambler being given a comp?

When I stay at Atlantis, it%26#39;s a no-brainer. I go to the Sky Terrace for seafood. I noticed a few signs for Bistro Napa and decided to give it a try.

Wow! The Happy Hour is incredible. The bar and restaurant are lovely, the service is excellent, the food interesting. I had a glass of Ferrari-Carano chardonnay and ahi tacos for $11.00 dollars. What a welcome change from the standard greasy bar food and cheap wine! All of the small plates and wines by the glass are 50% off from 4-6.

Nice surprise from Atlantis!

We aren%26#39;t big gamblers either but we still get offers from Harrah%26#39;s, Peppermill, and Atlantis with some regularity. I guess the reasoning is that even if you are comped a room you still have to eat, right? And after a drink or two you might venture into the casino, right?

We ate at Bistro Napa a few weeks ago and it is absolutely my new favorite ';nice night out'; (used to be Roxy in El Dorado).

Nice surprise from Atlantis!

I went to Roxy for the first time a couple of weeks ago, loved it!

Is Bistro Napa one of the newer restaurants they just opened? I walked through there last month but can%26#39;t remember seeing it.

It is new, it used to be the Italian restaurant on the 2nd floor. Had it been opened when you were there, I%26#39;ll bet you would have noticed all of the signs.

Not a real gambler by any measures but I have been bombarded by various offers from the Mill, Harrahs, %26amp; The Nugget offering free or almost Free rooms. Offered today a 20 suite at the Peppermill %26amp; $200 in slot money. I am sure the economy is the reason. So just enjoy the freebies.

Peddler, I think you%26#39;re right. I just recieved a great offer from GSR, in addition to offers from Atlantis and Peppermill. The gamblers must be rolling in comps!

well. this ';gambler'; is not rolling in offers...I go to Reno at least 3 times year (with 3 to 4 trips to Vegas), and all I receive are offers for ';reduced'; rates at Atlantis rooms, ';out back'; and peppermill rooms in the worst tower....And, I usually play slots til 2 am...must be doing something wrong...Just returned from Vegas and will continue to go there with the good rates...

Jungle, I%26#39;m sorry to hear that. If I were in marketing, I%26#39;d Fed-Ex comps straight to your door.

My DH thinks we%26#39;re getting so many offers because we are close. He works in Reno, so we stay in hotels fairly often. I guess with the economy, the hotels are banking on someone who doesn%26#39;t have to worry about other travel expenses. We%26#39;re like the no-frills frequent fliers.

This time of year is considered a slow time by the casinos so they really pump out offers to locals and those within an hours drive. We tend to get bombarded by them until just before the holidays start and ski season really gets going. I would think the casinos would be sending things out to their player club members too. We%26#39;ve been getting a lot of Vegas offers in email as well. Most of the offers we%26#39;ve seen at our house are for Sunday-Thursday for the special deals.
