Thanks shirl%26#39;. IMO Downtown really needs a nice hotel(a little nicer than the Golden Nugget).

I remember you were acosted by two young snot-nosed kids on the esculator at Ballys and your husband was going to beat them up last time you were in Vegas.LOL

Hope this next trip is less bumpy. :o)

If the hotel turns out to look at funky as the renderings, and they are able to offer top class service and amenities, I%26#39;m sure it will give the GN a run for it%26#39;s money:-)

This is what used to be the Ogden House which used to take the overflow from the main El Cortez. They were working on it in August and the exterior color looks about right.

With the under window a/c units it will definately havbe that OLD look to it. ) Kinda like Miami Beach meets Motel 6.

I do hope its nice and that the pool they put in is decent.

No way that place makes it for a couple reasons.

Location and location.

Also, no one will want to look out of their windows from all the low floors onto that part of Fremont Street.

That building may look ';South Beach';, but its still located on E. Fremont Street with bums aplenty.

I love downtown, but I%26#39;m failing to see the appeal of a rehabbed 60s motel. I%26#39;d sooner stay at the El Cortez proper.

Actually, i agree with Steve (Hal)...I was there last week, and looked it over...No way i would want to stay there...

Considering it is still being remodeled Jungle what were you basing your decision on?
