Nicer Hotel/Rooms - Planet Hollywood or Treasure Island?

I booked a few months ago Treasure Island for 3 nights for $180 or so with tax in December. I could now cancel for $25 and rebook 3 nights in a Hollywood Hip room at Planet Hollywood for $159 with tax, plus I%26#39;d get a $25 gift card to the shops or a $25 buffet coupon. We originally wanted Treasure Island because we were already spending 3 nights at Mandalay Bay and wanted something on the other side, but Planet Hollywoods casino was really nice last year when we went so I wasnt sure which was better.

Nicer Hotel/Rooms - Planet Hollywood or Treasure Island?

When comparing basic standard rooms I%26#39;d say that TI wins but since you are talking about the Hollywood Hip room which has been updated (they look pretty cool if you ask me) then I%26#39;d say the rooms are pretty much equal in most respects, I like the PH Hollywood Hip room%26#39;s bathroom better though. Looks like the price is a wash so it really just comes down to the property overall and location. I definately prefer Planet Hollywood%26#39;s casino over TI%26#39;s and would like having the Miracle Mile right there.

I would go with PH

I%26#39;ve stayed at both. I like them both equally. I assume you are talking about a basic room at both?

The location of PH is little more mid Strip, but TI is also a good location (close to: CP, Mirage, V-P, Wynn, etc.).

Sounds like you%26#39;re saving about $20 and getting your $25 back for food (so that%26#39;s a wash). The difference is $7 a night (not much when you%26#39;re talking Vegas).

You cannot go wrong with either property.

I would say stay with TI only because you have been at the South end (MB for 3 days) and TI is on the North end (For me the Strip technically ends at the Wynn and Fashion Mall). I also really like the size of TI. You%26#39;ll find plenty to explore on the North end and getting to mid strip (Bellagio, CP, Paris, PH, etc.) is an easy walk.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree with knooterr. The city center is to the south of TI and that leaves a huge gap with nothing to see. You can always visit PH casino, but if you want to be in the middle of it all definatly go for TI.

I think you%26#39;ll be happy at either one.

If you have a car, however, (it doesn%26#39;t sound like it), stick with TI. If you don%26#39;t have a car, I%26#39;d take PH. To me the locations plus and minus are essentially equal, but the rooms (particularly the bathrooms will be much larger and more luxuriuos at PH). TI%26#39;s rooms are a bit smaller and bathrooms are small and very average quality at best.

Where the car fits in is that parking a car at PH%26#39;s parking garage is miles from the casino and the hotel behind the shopping mall. So coming and going is a royal pain. If a car is not part of the equation, overall PH beats TI in my book. In addition to the nicer rooms, there is a better buffet, more and more affordable entertainment options at PH -- and the shopping mall is attached (no outdoor travel to get there) with stores that are affordable. I also happen to like the new vibe of the newly renovated casino at PH better than the somewhat older mundane generic one at TI.

That said, I think you%26#39;ll be happy at either one as both provide good value.

Having stayed at both, I would choose PH. I loved the rooms at TI but am not crazy about the casino and really did not care that much for the location. We prefer the other end of the strip and it%26#39;s so easy to get around Vegas, what difference does it really make? The rooms at PH are larger and the bathrooms are alot larger with the most wonderful european soaking tub. The buffet is very good and we really like the casino.

Really, you can%26#39;t go wrong with either as they are both nice properties. Since PH is cheaper, I would to there go!

Whatever you decide, have a great trip!

Done both prefer TI good location and better rooms.
