i booked southwest last month for january travel to vegas. i just looked and the rate has come down 30.00 for the direct flight coming home. the price is the same as i paid going down. ive never rebooked before with southwest so im not sure how this works. so far this would save my wife and i a total of 60.00. my question is do i do this online or should i call them? what if the prices go down again can i keep doing this to get a credit for our next vegas trip later in the year or is it just a one time credit.? any help would be appreciated thank you
getting credit after booking with southwest airlines
Go to site now.
Put in ';view or change flight';
once on that screen, check change flights
That will take you to a screen with your curent flight and the new rates.
click change
choose the same flights with the new cost, you will then confirm and you will get a credit to your account. It will be noted below before you submit.

yes you can do this every time the flight goes down in price. I check all the time. I had a credit from the last trip from doing this. I used it this time and my flight ended up costing me $16.50.
Southwest makes this real easy. Go onto their website. Towards the right side of the page it says Change/Cancel Flight. Click on that and then just follow the prompts. You recieve a credit that is good for one year from the date of the original purchase. It can be used once or on several flights. That credit is transferable, you can give it to a family member or friend. Keep checking back, if they lower the price you can keep rebooking your reservation at the lower rate. This is one of the many reason why I love Southwest.
thank you very much for all your help. i just went on to their site and made the changes and saved a total of 60.00 so far. now that i know how to do this which was very easy i will keep looking at their site if the prices go down again again thank you for your help. this is the type of thing that makes this site so good. its all about people helping others.
