Vegas 20 years from now? Your thoughts

What vision do you have for Vegas?

First I hope that I will still be able to visit Vegas 20 years from now

1. The Monorail has been extended - new stops would include but not limited to: Airport, Fremont Street, South Point, Sam%26#39;s Town, Green Valley Ranch and other off strip casinos and attractions.

2. New Hotels are now on both side of the streets (old structures are gone) from the Wynn all the way down to Fremont Street.

3. Slot machines take debit cards (Ghee good way to really spend too much)

4. Vendor food carts are located on the strip -hotdog stands, ice cream vendors, pretzel stands, etc. for a quick bite.

5. New Construction Law - All hotels much be themed :)

Vegas 20 years from now? Your thoughts

My vision/wishlist for Vegas in the next 20 years (would prefer to see within 5 years):

1. ALL sidewalks move.

2. Don%26#39;t have to switch slot machines to get a new game - they each hold 100%26#39;s of varieties.

3. Your very own elevator right inside your ROOM so you don%26#39;t have to walk a mile to get to it or wait for it.

4. Slot machines that say ';sorry Brenda, I have a lousy payout today'; before you waste any money.

5. Yes, fast, efficient, inexpensive monorail ON the Strip which goes downtown and some off Strip casinos.

6. I also agree with the themed hotel/casinos. It%26#39;s not called adult Disneyland for nuthin%26#39;.

7. More/different free things to do. I%26#39;m sure the Bellagio fountains and Sirens of TI will eventually wear out their entertainment value.

Unfortunately, I doubt I will be able to afford to visit LV in 20 years. By that time, the cost of providing water to the city will have become so high that hotel and restaurant prices will have to be jacked up to help pay for it all.

LuvLV - they have a bank of slots at the ElDorado casino in Shreveport that have 2 different games on them. That%26#39;s the first I%26#39;ve seen like that. It made me wonder if the day was coming when all slots would have all games loaded on them and you could just pick. I%26#39;m not all that sure I%26#39;d like that, though... scoping out ';The One'; is half the fun for me...

Luvl

I like #4, too funny.

The Tropicana will finally be imploded.

1.Harrah%26#39;s will pay even money on BJ.

2. Planet Hollywood will be bought out by Walmart. CW%26#39;s in blue aprons will serve you Sam%26#39;s Club beer and liquors in plastic tumblers. Several hotels will be demolished to make way for their fashion mall/grocery store.

3. Circus Circus is still filled with unsuspecting visitors from the UK.

In all actuality I think Vegas in 20 years will be much like Vegas in the mid to late 80%26#39;s. There has been too much built in such a short time and most new construction will almost surely come to halt on the strip within a few years. Many now luxurious mega resorts will no longer shine. Hotels will need to do more to draw people in. Cheaper rates and food and drink specials will be the norm. Vegas will once again be for the average Joe. I would say sometime after that, someone with vision will come along and the town will be transformed once more.

Interesting post :)

I think in 20 years, Las Vegas a we know it will not exist.. it will be overrun with a bunch of yuppies trying to prove who has more cash.

In my dream world though.. it would be as diverse as it is now... you can go from 5* deluxe to a 2.99 late night special at a lil diner all in one day; there would be dives that treat ya right and places that would put the Wynn to shame.

C%26#39;mon folks! I%26#39;m sure that everything will be fine there after the taxpayer bailout of the gambling industry...

Ballys will still look the same !

MY KIDS WILL HAVE LEFT HOME

yahooooooooooooooooooo

then i can go live in vegas,

i dont care if it only has 1 slot machine run by the porn slappers

ill still go
