Do you just pay the bus driver when you get on or do you have to buy passes somewhere? I am planning on using the deuce to go from downtown to the strip and back. Thanks.
Deuce Question
You pay when you get on. I%26#39;m thinking it is correct change though. It%26#39;s been a couple of years since I rode it.
Deuce Question
I buy my passes out of the self-serve kiosks near some of the stops.
Yes, correct change required- used to be $2- they have a dollar bill feeder and a coin slot- but did I hear the price went up- or will be? I%26#39;m not sure- you can buy an all day pass on the bus as well- that used to be $5- I think there are other kinds of passes at the Downtown terminal - but some may be for residents only.
';other kind of passes';....you can get a senior citizen pass at the downtown terminal...allows one half price to ride the duece.(one dollar)..and reduced price on CAT
The ride from ';downtown to the strip and back'; takes a LONG time, the busses are always crowded with derelicts. Pony up a few bucks more for a cab ride. You can thank me later.
If you take the bus early on the day it doesn%26#39;t take too long. In the evening it could be a long ride. Just sit back and enjoy seeing the strip without the hassel of driving.
It%26#39; $5. for 24 hour pass. You can get it at a kiosk or on the bus. Have exact change.
I personally wouldn%26#39;t take a cab. We took one and it cost over $20 not including tip. $5 vs $40. I don%26#39;t have to think about it too hard.
There are other bus options to get between the strip and downtown. The 116 for example will take you from either across the street from Mandalay to downtown or from Treasure Island to downtown. 40 minutes or less from Mandalay to downtown. 20 minutes or so from TI to downtown. The cost of that bus is only 2.50 for 24 hours. You can even ride the Deuce with the pass you buy on the 116 bus. Just pay an additional 50 cents. Enjoy your trip

Oh bla. The Deuce don%26#39;t take that long to get downtown and is full of tourists. Not to mention a very good deal, especially if you buy the 24 hour pass.
We always use the Deuce and it is $5 for a 24 hour pass. Yes at times it can be crowded and kinda slow. I did notice that the 2 other times I was there this year that they were stopping at every other stop and piggy backing with another bus who stopped at the stops ours didn%26#39;t. This did make it much faster.
For people who complain about the Deuce bus, I wonder if you ever had to ride the bus downtown prior to the Deuce?? Now that was an awful ride.
For $5 for 24 hours I am willing to spend some extra time for transportation. The Deuce pass is good on all bus lines so you can use it to got to Rio, Palms, Orleans, Terribles, Hard Rock, Sams Town etc.
I like to sit in those seats on the top deck in the very front. That%26#39;s a fun ride, man. Plus you get to see all the sights on the strip for cheep. Try doing that for 5 bucks in a cab.
