In the final stages of getting a multi centre holiday to the US booked for next May. We’ll be staying in NY, SF for 4 nights each then 7 nights in Las Vegas. I’ve tried to do the flights myself from the UK but can’t get anywhere near what united have quoted me, As part of a full holiday package they quoted me £400 pp and the closest I could get with anyone else for flights only was more like £700. I phoned united just out of interest to see how much the airfare would be and then booking the hotels myself directly. They quoted £670.
Question is, that has anyone booked through united vacations and used them booked there own accommodation? I wanted to book the hotels directly so I could cancel if a good offer came along closer to the time. Not sure that I’d be able to save £600 on booking hotels and flights separately.
Also final opinions on these hotels at these prices in Las Vegas.
Ceasers $1900
Bellagio $2136
Treasure Island $1368
Paris $1552
These are all for two sharing for seven nights.
Thanks
Anyone used united vacations?
I always use United Vacations but in reply to your question, I have never booked my own accommodation direct. - I never really thought it necessary as the whole package was virtually half the brochure price from the UK holiday companies.
Anyone used united vacations?
I was very supprised at the price. Just the fact that you have to go with the hotels in there brochure and they don%26#39;t do the ones that rate highly on Trip Advisor that I like the look off.
Hi
Those hotel prices look high to me but you are looking very early and you also have a weekend in there. The weekend prices at those hotels are around $300 a night a big chunk of the money. If you want to save money you could go to a cheaper hotel for the weekend if you don%26#39;t mind changing hotels, some people mind others don%26#39;t. You could maybe stay downtown for a couple of night%26#39;s and experience the difference from the strip. Try looking at Golden nugget for the weekend, a good hotel downtown.

Thanks for the advice Clive,
I think it’s going to end up being either twelve or two sixes really. I can only get the cheap airfare if I do it through united vacations but I%26#39;m going to end up paying more for the hotels. Or I can save on the hotels and pay more for the flights. I may give them a call tomorrow and ask if I can have the airfare and use them to supply a hotel in only one location. Wouldn%26#39;t mind changing hotels but again not sure if they could do this as they only seem to do %26#39;strip%26#39; hotels in their brochure. Or I could extend my stay in one of the other locations and miss the weekend in Vegas.
Hi
If you can avoid the weekend in Vegas you will be better off also it is more crowded at weekends. The hotel prices are high on Friday and Saturday and most drop for Sunday although some don%26#39;t drop till the Monday but have an inbetween price.
Clive
United let you have their reduced fare if you use them to supply your accomadation for atleast 3 nights so we%26#39;ll use them for SF. And book direct with the hotel in Ny and Vegas. Really happy with this as the air fare is only £400!
What time do the prices start coming down in Vegas? Reckon I%26#39;ll just book somewhere so if all else fails we%26#39;ve got somewhere. Now we%26#39;ve got the cheap flights we can afford to spend more on a hotel in Vegas- any suggestions?
Hi
Prices are the lowest about 3 months before your travel date. Also google las Vegas conventions and check that there are no big conventions that clash with your dates as that can affect room rates in an upward direction!!
Personally I would go off strip for part of your stay to get a good hotel at a cheaper rate but we always have a car. If you are hiring a car you could look at the South Point which is about a 10 min drive south of Mandalay Bay which we stayed at this year and did like it alot but I have read they have started building a new tower so construction could be a problem. Also the Orleans is good and is about a mile off strip down Tropicana, they have a strip shuttle and a shuttle to the Gold Coast which is next to the Rio and the Palms.
You have so many choices it is hard to pick one, here is a link to most casino websites, have a look and see which ones appeal to you www.lvol.com/hotelnks.html

We used United Vacations to book a trip to Steamboat Springs Colorado. Do not ever use United Vacations for anything. They are the most dishonest company we have ever encountered. We normally book our trips to everywhere independently but decided to use them because their package was less expensive--or so we thought. We were allowed to pick our days and times of leaving on United flights (each flight time changed your price) and we picked those with the least layovers and most convenient times. Well, United changed our flight without telling us until we got to the airport. Our flights were not cancelled, they chose to put us on later flights---8 hours later. We waited 8 HOURS in Denver airport because United decided to sell our seats to make money. We will never fly that disgusing airline. We also were forced to leave Steamboat 5 hours before our flight out of Steamboat because they only have one shuttle. My advice to you is to go only if you book everything independently. NEVER EVER USE the CRIMINAL agency UNITED Vacations. We even disputed it on our credit card and they said all they are responsible for is getting you there. They are allowed to bump you off any flight. It does not matter what you pay for it. So first class people can be bumped to coach if they want you to, even if you pay for first. This is what the presidents of UNITED and United Vacations said. Disgusting and criminal.
