Got back from 3 days in Vegas after not being there in a year. This has been my longest stretch in many years.
After switching reservations 3 times because we kept getting better offers in the mail, we finally settled on the Gold Coast, where we recieved a comped suite, $75 per day dining credit, and $200 in free play.
This seemed like an unusually good deal for a small timer like me.
We had stayed there about 4 yrs ago, and found the rooms were ok, but quite generic, so I was surprised to find out how very nice the suite was, and was convinced we made the right choice.
The Food was pretty good, Ate at Cortez room the 1st nite, and it was nice. The buffet was good as well, although we only ate breakfast there. They have opened a TGI Fridays there and it was good to get free chow there.
Did not do well with the free play , nor was it a great trip for the gambling. We played mainly VP and craps. I was dissapointed in the VP paytables at the GC. This place used to be loaded with full pay. They still have a lot of full pay VP there, but you must search it out. I plan to post a seperate topic on VP soon if interisted
Spent the next day on the strip, was impressed how the city center project was coming along. This will be an amazing place when opened.
I did notice that the crowds were much smaller than past trips, I realize that this is usually a slow time, but I%26#39;ve never experienced such short lines at airport security, valet parking and restaurant seating.
Now I;m back home and itching to return as usual. Hopefully this time it won%26#39;t be a whole year.
Trip report. Much seems changed in a year!
Sounds like you got a great deal and had fun...
