Trip is booked for 01/30/09-02/02/09

This will be my 6th trip to Las Vegas since the Fall of 2005!

Going for the weekend, Fri. Jan 30/09 to Mon. Feb 2/09, with my girlfriend. We were there last February for my (30th) birthday - along with 8 other friends and it was a blast! Unfortunately my girlfriend couldn%26#39;t stay for more than a couple nights, so this time around I%26#39;m showing her everything she couldn%26#39;t see.

Found an amazing price ($99/one-way/pp) for airfare from Toronto to Las Vegas, direct, non-stop. Ended up booking one-way flights to Las Vegas via Air Canada and home via West Jet. Air Canada%26#39;s mid-day return flight was fully booked, and I didn%26#39;t want to take the red-eye home.

I found a good deal at the MGM from Travelzoo - was $55USD/weeknight and slightly more on weekends, so ended up booking a Spa Suite for our stay. On previous trips I have almost always gone with the same friend who has access to a family timeshare, so I have only stayed at strip hotel twice before - Hooters (cheap Expedia air+hotel package) and Mirage (booked through the poker room). I%26#39;ve been trying for the past 1/2hr to get through to the MGM Players Club to find out my number :)

We%26#39;ll be meeting up with some friends who are flying in at the same time as we are all going to UFC 94 (go GSP!!) on the Saturday night at MGM. Sunday morning is our return to the Bally%26#39;s Sterling Brunch and then the afternoon is the Superbowl. Not too excited about that though. :)

We both can%26#39;t wait! It%26#39;s just seems soooo far away!

T-minus... umm... 70 days, I think, to go! :)

Trip is booked for 01/30/09-02/02/09

Revlis, Sounds like You and Your Gang have a wonderful Trip planned. The anticipation is a killer though, LOL I know personally, but Ive found if I can just talk out my excitement here on TA, it really does help ease the pain (lol) of the wait.

Here%26#39;s hoping time flys for Ya! :)

Have a blast!

Revlis! We are going to be in Vegas the same time!

How are your seats for UFC 94?! GO GSP GO!!!

We%26#39;ll be there as well :) Can%26#39;t freaking wait. Fight actually falls on my Husbands birthday and I%26#39;m suprising him with the tickets as his Christmas present :)

We%26#39;re staying at the Signature MGM, we booked a Junior Suite through a private owner for $800/6 nights. Also got a steal on our flights through Westjet. There and back for Husband and myself is $620 total

I%26#39;m booked and going at the same time too. The trip is a Christmas present for hubby. (I wish I could have kept it a surprise, lol)

I got great deal on airfare through WestJet, I booked rooms at the MGM and our tickets for UFC 94 are in hand!

This is our first trip to LV and we can%26#39;t wait!

Tumbleweed how are your seats for UFC%26gt;?!

tahitidreamer, 216L, $200 seats. Didn%26#39;t want to go totally crazy on the seats since I just wanted to be there and experience it LIIIIIIVE! Sorry bad Bruce Buffer imitation. Tinhere%26#39;s 6 of us gog to the fight.

I%26#39;m just waiting to find out all about the after parties from UFC.

I noticed the other day that there is a MGM Facebook group (big surprise eh?) that lists the after parties, so just keeping an eye on that.

Trying to decide if we%26#39;ll after party-hop or go to a club - haven%26#39;t been to a club in ages, and never been to one in Vegas.

I hear ya Revlis...and actually you know what

The high up seats are not THAT bad. I know our stadiums around here are 16-19000 people. The one at MGM holds just over 16000 I believe is what I wrote

So throw me up in the nosebleeds, give me my GSP shirt and a drink and I%26#39;ll be good to go...

Husband has NO idea yet. And he%26#39;s not going to know about hte UFC tickets until Christmas. Vegas he knows about already as he HAD to book thetime off!

We should start a thread on after parties closer too!

We are going on the same day and staying until the 5th of Feb. Driving the half hr to Bellingham and getting Allegient. Taking the 425 pm flight. Hope there isn%26#39;t going to be a huge delay because of the closed runway. What time do you all arrive? Our plane is supposed to be in Vegas at 650pm

tahitidreamer, nosebleeds all the way. but after flying for 4 hours, i rather sit somewhere that i can see - even with my glasses. :) i%26#39;ve never paid this much for a concert or anything before, but i%26#39;m sure that it won%26#39;t disappoint!

i figured the topic will come up on its own prior to the date, so it%26#39;ll be interesting. i was in vegas during UFC 67 or 62 or something - it was at the Hard Rock. my friends went - who are coming this time too. i wasn%26#39;t into it back then, so i didn%26#39;t go. played the slots and made enough points for the dinner buffet for all of us ;)

anamerty, we leave toronto at 8:20am (est) and arrive around 10:30am (vegas time) or so, if I recall. i wanted to leave thursday night, but my gf can%26#39;t get out of work early enough to make it to the airport. so we%26#39;re flying out ';first thing'; on friday.

Our seats are U22 for $300. Never paid that much for a single ticket before. We fly in Saturday morning around 10 and are staying until Tuesday night. Those were the only days we could get off work. We are looking forward to the parties too!

Also counting down and getting excited.

Paid $200 for section 104. A stupid question though for GSP fans-

I think the guy is unbelievable and cannot decide who I should root for. What exactly does ';Rush'; mean?

I get the other nicknames- Axe Murderer, Spider, The Maine-iac, Iceman, The Huntington Beach Bad Boy (too long), The Natural...

But what is significant about ';Rush';. Is there a translation or something getting lost?

Is he in a hurry to win? That seems too simple when he speaks another language.

Anyway- the trip is shaping up to be quite an event.
