I will be in Vegas tomorrow (Friday) and looking forward to using my new semi-fancy camera over the next few days. I%26#39;ve been there many times and used my old trusty camera. Unfortunately, it takes crappy shots at night and pretty much all the time.
For those amateur photographers, where would you go to best showcase the city in stills?
Great Scenic Shots
Bellagio Fountains
Great Scenic Shots
Fremont East.....downtown...out from under the canopy.
I saw some fantastic photos on this forum from a guy who shot them from the top of Rio (I think from the Voodoo Lounge), looking towards the strip. (I%26#39;m sorry I don%26#39;t remember his name -- those were great photos!)
Also, from the top of Stratosphere you can get some good shots, and from the other end of the strip, the top of the Mandalay Bay looking north.
Have a fantastic time!!
Take a ride up the eiffel tower at the Paris resort - great views up and down the strip both during the day and at night (the trip up costs $ but the view is worth it and you can stay as long as you like.
Bring a light jacket it could be a little chilly up there on the tower at night :-{
If you%26#39;re up for spending big bucks then book a helicopter tour of the strip - and start clicking :-)
There%26#39;s a heap of great places to take stills! Like what%26#39;s been already mentioned, the Voodoo Lounge at the Rio and the top of the Eiffel Tower are great! Also, just by walking the strip you can take excellent shot.
For instance the bridge over NYNY to MGM Grand is good as is the Bridge from NYNY to Excalibur. There%26#39;s also the bridge from Bellagio to Bally%26#39;s which would be good also.
Further down on street level you can take excellent shots of the new Palazzo and Wynn and of course from street level you can still take amazing shots of the Bellagio fountains!!
Enjoy!

Here is a link to the great photos I was talking about:

this guy goes under the name DrLegg here on TA and he is from Derbyshire in the UK.
His photos gave me some wonderful ideas for shots when I went in September.
wintcrkca....Thanks for bringing back DrLegg%26#39;s photo site. I remember them %26amp; his TR. Both great.
you%26#39;re welcome rockys! I had forgotten that his TR was also very entertaining.
