Best in Park accomodation at the Grand Canyon?
Thanks I%26#39;ll follow it up there.
El Tovar, built around the early 1900%26#39;s.Excellent resturant.
Good for you for planning to stay overnight. It is the best way to see the GC. There are no spectacular accommodations inside the park. The advantage of staying in the park is the location, not the quality of the hotels. And beyond a doubt, the opportunity to stay overnight in the park outwieghs having to stay in a marginal room for one night. El Tovar is the oldest and classiest, but the rooms are tiny. Not a good choice for a family. The Thunderbird and La Kachina are forgettable 70%26#39;s style rooms, but they are right on the rim. I think these are the largest rooms and most suited for a family. There are also some rustic cabins scattered about. They may have a few that would be large enough to accommodate 5 people. By the way, if there is a full moon while you are there, the view of the canyon bathed in moonlight is awesome. Go for it.
