trip report Nov. 14-18, Palazzo and 4 shows!

Still adjusting to the routine back home but have such great memories of our 4 day Vegas holiday!

Stayed at Palazzo and thought it was beautiful, elegant, airy and cean. Loved the easy access out of the hotel to the street level.

Friday night saw Vinnie Favorito at Flamingo Hilton. He was so funny and as every reviewer has said, no one in the audience is safe. He will pick on everyone! He is like a young Don Rickles. Sat. night saw Bette Midler . Seats were in rear orchestra section 5 and pretty close to stage but she is a tiny person so binoculars helped a lot. Nice that she thanks the audience for spending the money during these tough economic times. Sunday night went to LOVE. Spectacular! Seats were in section 305 row BB and it felt like we were watching a bit from the side. Maybe the section one over to the left would have been a bit better. Didn%26#39;t mind being up high because lots of the action took place at our eye level. Enjoyed the Beatles music and all the acrobatics and costumes. Monday night saw Wayne Brady at the Venetian. Seemed like he enjoys his work. Lucky we were moved to the centre section right befor the show started. Too bad for Vegas but there were empty sections . Even noticed reduced tickets for LOVE at the TIX4Tonight booth! That is a sign of the times.

Ate at Stacks in the Mirage before LOVE. Food was delicious as well as great service. Had the fixed price menu and the steak was sooo tender.

Weather was record breaking for November! 82 degrees each day with no wind, no humidity and no clouds! Swam in the lovely pool every afternoon . Sun only appears from behind the buildings at 11 am and stays til about 3 pm. They actually close the pool area at 4 pm sharp and even if you enjoy the shade you must leave.

Ate at 2 buffets... Bellagio for Sunday brunch and Wynn for Monday dinner. Bellagio had a one hour line-up at noon. Wynn at 6 pm for dinner - we walked right in. That was Monday night after the weekend crowd was long gone and still surprised us that it was so empty. Food at both was really good and even offered sugar -free desserts.

Everything worked out perfectly for us and we just loved it!

If you have any questions, just ask.

Thank you to everyone on Trip Advisor who helped me with my planning over the past 3 months. Your advice was right on!

trip report Nov. 14-18, Palazzo and 4 shows!

Sounds like you had a great time. Was this your first stay at the Palazzo? Did you notice any sort of decline in service as a result of the LVS bankruptcy rumors?

trip report Nov. 14-18, Palazzo and 4 shows!

Yes it was our first stay at Palazzo. Last visit to Vegas was 5 years ago, and we stayed at Bellagio. Both are beautiful properties but Palazzo is so new and fresh and the standard rooms are so spacious with 720 sq. ft. Loved the location as it was so convenient . Had heard that Bellagio rooms need some updating and one of the waiters at Stack told us that just last week Bellagio was sold to people from Dubai. Maybe now they will have some money to renovate .

Thanks! We had a blast!

did you enjoy the Bette Miller show?

Yes we enjoyed the Bette Midler show very much! She is a tiny little thing packed with personality! She takes over the whole stage which is really big and she works very hard. There is no intermission and the show is 90 minutes long . The jokes now include Sarah Palin and are quite humorous.Costumes are colourful and music is pleasing and familiar. We really enjoyed being able to see the real lady; not an impersonator! If you go make sure you arrive early enough because starting 8 minutes pre-show there is a movie on the big screen that you wouldn%26#39;t want to miss! The night we went it seemed sold out but it was a weekend. They take cameras away at the door so don%26#39;t bother bringing it, but binoculars are fine and really helped us to see her facial expressions. Enjoy!

Great TR! We%26#39;re headed to the Palazzo in 3 days and your report is a huge help!

ellekasey -

So are we! Might see you.

You guys are so lucky! I can%26#39;t wait to go back and it will be hard to pick any other place to stay than Palazzo.

I am so glad I was of any help to you! Have a great trip!

Wow, sounds like a fun-filled 4 days :) What great weather you had. Do you recommend Wayne Brady?

Wow you sure saw a lot of shows,,can%26#39;t believe Love had some lower priced tickets,, that is great. I have to say, in Vegas you are suppose to be able to just about do anything,,(legally) haha, but, I really don%26#39;t like how they close the pool areas, even in the middle of August. Sometimes after playing hard all day, while your on vacation from the East coast, I would like to just sit under those lovely palm trees by the pool and just relax, maybe sit in the hot tub or something, and soak your aching feet. And maybe entertain myself at the pool, where those machines wouldn%26#39;t be costing me so much money,,,yes, I know that is one of the reasons it isn%26#39;t open, plus they say it just isn%26#39;t worth it to keep it open for the few that want to lounge around, but I feel you ought to be able to sign some waiver or something, so they didn%26#39;t have to have lifeguards or whatever, okay enough from me now,,,,got on a little tangent there....Any way I%26#39;m a big grown up girl and would like to be able to go to the pool 24hrs, just because I could!!

Yes, Wayne Brady is multi-talented and relates very well to his audience. He is a great singer and dancer, which he includes in his show. Then there is the audience participation with improv, which is really funny and at some points he and his side-kick crack up on stage, which makes the audience laugh even more. We really enjoyed his 85 minutes, with no intermission.

And about closing the pools- I am in total agreement. Since the weather was so warm we were enjoying talking to some people we met even though the sun was gone and we were in the shade. It was just relaxing until we were told that our time was up.
