So why are there no coffee pots in hotel rooms in Vegas?

Seriously, in any Podunk motel across the US, from 5 star to no-star, in-room coffee pots are everywhere. Why does Vegas get an exemption from this common amenity? I can%26#39;t remember anywhere but Vegas I%26#39;ve been that that%26#39;s the rule. Even Atlantic City has seen the light and most places are furnishing in-room coffee pots.

I say we TripAdvisor Forum members start to show our power by letting the casino/hotel owners that we%26#39;ll stay elsewhere without ready access to coffee makers!:)

So why are there no coffee pots in hotel rooms in Vegas?

It%26#39;s funny, I never realized the oddness about the lack of coffemakers in Las Vegas rooms until I started reading this board! I love my coffee, but I%26#39;m also the girl who goes to Starbucks every morning - so I guess I%26#39;m used to fetching my own coffee and it doesn%26#39;t even occur to me to make it myself!

simple answer... hotels are owned by casinos.

they don%26#39;t want you in your hotel room drinking free coffee... they want you in the casino spending money.

maybe it%26#39;s just me, but i love my coffee... i drink a lot of it... but i almost never touch the in room coffee maker anyways. for one thing, i use milk in my coffee and the powdered creamer just doesn%26#39;t cut it. so i go downstairs and buy a cup regardless.

not having a coffee maker in my room doesn%26#39;t phase me in the least.

especially in vegas. i spend as little time as possible in my room to begin with... so i%26#39;m not likely to sit up there sipping my free coffee when there%26#39;s so much to do downstairs...

I agree with Vancouver. I like cream with my coffee, not powdered stuff. I don%26#39;t touch the stuff in the rooms either. Main reason for me (besides needing real cream/milk), you also don%26#39;t know how long the coffee has been sitting in the room. I like it freshly made, preferably by someone else.

Precisely the same reasons why you don%26#39;t get certain other amenities for free that are standard elsewhere such as fitness center access and internet usage. They want you in the casino.

What ';Podunk motel'; gives you ';free'; drinks when you%26#39;re gambling? It%26#39;s Vegas - the rules that apply anywhere else go out of the window.

I too am semi-obsessive about having cream (1/2 and 1/2) in my coffee. Never will I use the powdered stuff. So, I buy a pint of cream at a store and put it in either the room fridge (yes, almost a standard amenity in many places) or a bucket of ice. If I forget the cream, I beg some at a restaurant.

I also bring my own ground coffee with me so I know it%26#39;s fresh.

And, since I travel alone frequently, there is no one to fetch coffee from another source for me. Going anywhere or seeing someone before coffee...I shudder. I%26#39;m just not human until I have coffee.

Cate

They have them at Casino Royale. :-)

They have coffee makers at the Four Queens.

It%26#39;s funny because, after all of the hubub about not using the glasses in your hotel room I haven%26#39;t been able to view coffee machines as any better. I bet those are rarely/never cleaned! So now, even in podunk motels hubbie and I get coffee from the lobby or elsewhere.

We don%26#39;t mind not having them in Vegas because we like the good stuff and usually hotels don%26#39;t supply the good stuff.

This is why I love the Signature. A decent coffee pot and real cream provided!
