We're back & recovered!

We are very routine people in Vegas so my goal for this trip was to do anything that we had never done before. We accomplished a lot of that.

Left on Nov. 2nd on US Airways. Got there 20 minutes early and that was great because I had already bought tickets to the House of Blues Gospel Brunch. For the month of November, they are charging $10 more for all you want to drink Mimosas %26amp; Bloody Mary%26#39;s. Nothing like drinking at 10 in the morning at a Gospel Brunch. I felt the need to try to drink up mine %26amp; Eddie%26#39;s extra $10 we spent for this. Food was good and lots of it. Seating is pretty tight there.

Checked in to the Fitzgerald next where even though our room was paid for through USAirways, they wanted a $100 deposit. If you have ever stayed here, I don%26#39;t know what it is you would want to charge to the room. I let them know this summer, I stayed through USAirway Vacations at Planet Ho and they didn%26#39;t ask for any deposit and it was a very nice hotel where there were lots of things you could charge to the room. Eddie tried to tell me because of my complaint, we would get the worse room they had and he was right. 16th. floor with the best view of the air conditioner unit for the hotel. I complained about this room everyday. The shower leaked the whole time we were there. Nothing was done. One morning, I told them about the 4 huge fluffy pillows per bed at Planet Ho and that day, we came back to the room to find ONE EXTRA PILLOW ON THE BED!!! Planet Hollywood spoiled me this summer.

Sunday night, we had the seafood buffet at the Fremont Hotel on a POV coupon. It was pretty good. Then we saw the best show ever. Cirque du Soleil Love. We are still talking about how good that show was.

Monday, I get to go to the strip for shopping, gambling and whatever else I want to do because Eddie is at the Shelby tour again. He goes ever year. I finally made it to Osheas and Casino Royale for the first time ever.

Monday night, I finally got to eat at the Mandalay Bay Burger Bar and had a Kobe Burger and then we get to go to the worse show ever, Criss Angel Believe. I bought these tickets back in the spring the day they went on sale. Couldn%26#39;t wait to see it. When he came out as himself at first, he was great and then the show began. Long, boring, dark, dreary show. I should have been drunk. It would have been better.

Tuesday morning, we go to a SEMA show new products breakfast at the Hilton. For a free breakfast, it was the best breakfast I have had. The rest of the day, we are at the SEMA show. Thank goodness, we bought one of those backpack wheely things they sell for all the stuff Eddie collected and model cars he brought to be autographed.

Wednesday was breakfast with the women of the NHRA. Very boring so I went out to the Hilton and gambled.

SEMA show autographs we got included Bill Elliot, Clint Bowyer where this girl in front of me in line announced that it was Dale Jr. and the line went nuts, John Force, Ashley Force, Robert Hight, other NHRA people I don%26#39;t remember, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin(little cutie), Steve Letarte, Larry McReynolds, Mike Helton, Tony Stewart and Greg Zippendeli. I also now the hit of my kids at school because I got my picture made with the rap singer Nelly.

Wednesday night, we did have to go to one traditional place of ours. Harley Davidson Cafe to eat because we went to see Lance Burton who was great and very funny.

Thursday was another gambling, shopping and drinking day for me on the strip while Eddie went back to the SEMA show for the 3rd day in a roll. Gambled for the first time ever at the MGM Grand. Just couldn%26#39;t stop winning on a Slingo machine. Not big money but some. Had to go to Fat Tuesday to get a Souvenir drink cup to match the others at my house. After that, lunch at the Bellagio buffet. Went back to MGM and bought a jello shot that I choke on and a $8 beer that I dropped on the floor so I thought maybe I should leave there.

2 pm was the big Meet %26amp; Greet at Diablos. So I get there and walk in thinking I will just know these people. Sat at the bar, ordered a beer and just couldn%26#39;t figure out where these people are. Then I spot all these people with name tags. FOUND THEM!!! Loved meeting everyone. I have always wanted to go to one of these and finally, I got to.

Friday is check out day. I know the Fitzgerald was thrilled to see me go. Don%26#39;t worry Fitzgerald, that%26#39;s all Eddie and I talked about all week was where we were staying next year. I%26#39;m the one that always sets the date for these trips and messed up this year and we left the Sunday of the Nascar race here in Texas so he has already let me know our dates next year for the SEMA show and when the Nascar race is here. We have to take a box of stuff to Fed Ex to be mailed home and then we head out to the Hoover Damn to see the progress on the new road. Another new thing off my list on the way out there was I got to eat at In N Out Burger. A stop at Ethyl M%26#39;s on the way back and off to turn the car back in at Alamo. Get to the airport around 5:30 for a 6:50 pm flight and as soon as we sit down, I get a call on my cell phone that the plane would be delayed by 3 hours. Well at least they have slots at the airport.

Until next year, Oct. 31-Nov 5th.

Sher

We're back %26amp; recovered!

Sounds like you had fun, I hate when I drop my drinks.

We're back %26amp; recovered!

Was it the airline who called you on your cell phone to let you know about the delay?

Sher- It was so nice to meet you at the M%26amp;G. I%26#39;m glad you had a good time and it sounds like DH did also with all the ';car stuff';! I don%26#39;t know if we plan on doing SEMA again next year- we%26#39;ll see- all I know is that if it means another trip to Vegas I%26#39;m in! (BUT I DON%26#39;T want to wait until Nov to return)

So, I guess Fitzgerald%26#39;s is off your list of places to stay,hu!! LOL

Take care

Janice

Yes, it was US Airways that called on my cell phone. I had my cell number on our paperwork. They said something about wind conditions. They didn%26#39;t call this summer when our flight was canceled though. They just announced it to everyone at the gate. We stayed an extra night this summer thanks to US Airways when that happened. They put us up at the Super 8 next to Ellis Island.

Sounds like you had a nice trip. I could just picture you trying to tell the staff at Fitz how they do things at Planet Hollywood, I%26#39;m surprised they didn%26#39;t laugh in your face! Not really the same class of hotel.

Hope you didn%26#39;t pay too much for that ';Kobe'; burger, whatever it was that they actually served you.

The Fitz didn%26#39;t laugh at me when I told them how much better Planet Ho was but they did remind me every single time that I paid a whole lot more to stay there. We%26#39;ve stayed at the Fitz the last three Novembers and it did seem this time to be going down hill some.

That Kobe burger was $16 with NO fries and I really liked the In N Out burger better but sometimes in Vegas, you just have to try new things regardless of the price.

What a way to end a trip, a huge flight delay. Sorry to hear about your experience at the Fitz. I%26#39;ve never stayed there but quite a few other downtown hotels with no problems.

Sher it was great to ';finally'; meet you in person. I%26#39;m glad you stuck with it and went to see Criss, it%26#39;s one of those things that if you are a real fan you just have to see for yourself and draw your own conclusion. SHER has spoken Criss has disappointed his fans shame on him!!

As you know I had to high tail it from the M%26amp;G to get to bullriding. What a great show! Your PBR friend was a bundle of information tell her thanks for the info, is she coming to Dallas for the show in Jan?

Well it%26#39;s definitely not flip flop weather here today, snow and wind and the power has flicked a couple of times ';oh'; to be back in Vegas

Marlene

Sounds like your trip was action packed. What a bummer about the 3hr. flight delay...at least it was going home and not arriving! Who wants to loose 3hrs of Vegas time, huh? If I have that much of a delay going home, I%26#39;ll for sure miss my connection and have to take another day off work...oh well :)
